GREAT PLACE TO STAY RIGHT IN THE CENTRE OF CATANIA

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property, it was spotlessly clean, large room with a decent fridge for drinks and within walking distance to everything. The hosts Giuseppe and Concetta were excellent and were able to help with luggage as the stairs are steep and very narrow, once you get to the first floor there is a small lift for luggage to be taken to the next floor. Breakfast was provided at a bar/cafe a couple of streets away and it was excellent great savory or sweat pastries and coffee or juice. Would definitely recommend but be aware of the steep stairs.

OVERBOOKING??? SEGURO???

Llegue a las 19 h, el propietario dijo que había overbooking en nuestra habitación, que la había vendido 2 veces, que el otro había llegado, antes pero qué nos había buscado la solución Nos acompañó a un hotel destartalado, el aire acondicionado no funcionaba, ni la nevera de la habitación, las camas eran un jergón y las tapetas del marco de la puerta se cayeron al cerrarla Le dije que no quería dormir en ese hotel y me dijo que la ley le obligaba a alojarnos en un establecimiento de mayor categoría, pero para nada era así. Miramos el precio de esa noche y en el B&B valía 74 € (y aún marcaba disponibilidad) y el hotel del realojo 57 € (sería menos lo que pagó él pues lo tendría negociado) Al día siguiente dije que no iba a pasar otra noche ahí, así que nos trasladó a otro hotel de la misma cadena (la recepcionista era la misma en los 2) de una categoría superior Cuando fuimos a trasladarnos, la esposa del propietario nos dijo que él había ido a acompañar a otros clientes a otro hotel, que le esperáramos (otro overbooking al día siguiente??, curiosa coincidencia) Dado que cuando se suponía que había overbooking seguía marcando disponible el B&B y en los hoteles le conocían perfectamente, creo que no es ni la 1ª, ni la 2ª que lo hace, es la práctica habitual Debe tener 1, 2 o 3 habitaciones, las vende tantas veces como sea y va realojando a los supuestos overbookings en hoteles A mi modo de ver todo un negocio de realojamiento montado con la excusa del overbooking

Good manners

going and it turns out the facilities function better than some of the more modern accommodation. We were in the middle of a city and the room was quiet and the bed was a really modern comfortable kingsize affair. Breakfast was a 5 minute walk to a real Sicilian cafe with first class pastries and coffee. You have to be positive and think good thoughts and the people are a delight. Our host Guiseppe was a wonderful , charming man who wanted to give us the best in comfort and inknowledge of the history of Sicily. Had a big heart , one of the old school of exceptional good manners. It was a very good experience .
