"Great place and location."

"King room with balcony. Room 201 had a beautiful water view.... the rest of the room was terrible. Mattress was turned up at the corners. Visible lumpy mattress ... like it looked like kids were hiding in the bed. Asked about switching rooms but there were no other rooms available. I had an event to attend so i had to make it work. Drain in tub kept closing thus water pooling while showering. Fast forward to the next morning, we were tired & sore from sleeping on lumps. The balcony door didn't have a screen for fresh air without bugs coming in the balcony didnt feel safe in several spots, especially right out side the threshold.... the floor buckled & felt soft like you could fall threw. I spoke to several staff who kept saying there was nothing they could. I called again to speak to a manager yet they are never available. Very upset about the quality of the room. "

"Location, location, location. We had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful property which is located just minutes away from everything Gettysburg. We stayed in the Kentucky Suite in the historic Welty House, and it did not disappoint. It was the perfect place for our seven night stay. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable and went out of their way to make our visit memorable. The grab-and-go breakfast was a plus. We highly recommend staying here on your next visit to this amazing town. "

"Our stay was great from check-in to check out. The building is older but very well maintained and clean. We traveled with our small dog and have to say that they have a very reasonable pet fee of $25. Plenty of grassy areas for pet relief with friendly signs reminding people to clean up after their pets. The location is ideal as it is in walking distance to many shops, restaurants, and historical sites. The breakfast spread was a great variety and the breakfast crew kept the food stocked, fresh, and area clean. Our room was very clean and well maintained. While there is no microwave in the room, there is one available in the hotel lobby for use. Maybe not as many modern frills as some chains, but we found this hotel to be an excellent choice and even joined their loyalty program. "

"The room was clean and the staff was nice however the bathroom needs a major upgrade. The tub and knobs were below average. The bed was comfortable. There is curtain that separates the closet however it needs to be swapped out with a door or nothing at all because it can be a little scary entering a room with a curtain in front of it. The hotel hallways smelled stale and needs a deep cleaning or change of carpet to get rid of the smell. The hotel holds a lot of history however it needs cosmetic upgrades. It’s a beautiful hotel. "

"We ended up paying for breakfast even though it had said included when booking. When asked we were only told to go to the restaurant on the 5th floor so we did and that was not where the included breakfast was located apparently. "
