Not stayed in a B&B for years and this place did NOT disappoint me, friendly greeting after arranging when i was going to arrive due to no reception but that went well, was met outside. Very friendly, everywhere was clean, just what i call a great old fashioned classic B&B, breakfast was great too. Will be looking at staying here again when i visit Carlisle again, many thanks for a great stay.

Steve's a great host, very friendly and laid back. The room was basic but functional and perfect for a weekend of hiking and gigs up in Cumbria. The breakfasts were superb and started the day off right. Broadband is plenty quick enough to watch video and signal was strong. The shower was hot and had good pressure and the bed comfy. I may be being too modern, but I'd rather a bit more space on the desk than a TV nowadays - we're in the generation of everyone travelling with a laptop or tablet and I'd rather stream from a million sources than watch a patchy digital TV signal that isn't the best due to how many hills are in the area.
