"We were in the room for about ten minutes and to get rid of several bugs. We had to find a new place to stay because the accommodations were unreasonable. Currently working with Expedia to have our money refunded. "

"Nice little home in a neighborhood that’s close to everything Gloucester. Within walking distance of Walter Reed’s birthplace, except Hickory Road has no sidewalks. Charming place."
Squeaky Shores Gloucester, VA Waterfront York River Oasis
10/10 Excellent
"Our stay at Squeaky Shores over the Fourth of July week was fantastic! This property was more than spacious enough for our group of ten, which included six adults and four children. With multiple separate areas to hang out, we never felt crowded. The kids loved cooling off in the pool, while the adults spent hours playing billiards in the game room. In the evenings, we all gathered in the open-concept living, kitchen, and dining area to watch TV, play games with the kids, and plan the next day's adventures. We appreciated how well-stocked the kitchen was with pots, pans, plates, and utensils. It was easy to make breakfast every morning, especially with the choice of both a Keurig K-cup machine and a regular drip coffee maker. The ample dining seating meant everyone could eat together comfortably.Checking in was a breeze, and we were grateful for the heads-up from the owners about the gravel road. It was definitely worth the trip off the beaten path! There's so much to see and do in the area, from amusement parks and historical sites to museums and the beach. While traffic was a bit heavy on the Williamsburg side of the York River, that was to be expected during a holiday week.Overall, we had a tremendous time and the property exceeded our expectations. We would absolutely stay here again if we return to the area."
Freshly renovated c1900 Farmhouse in Plainview surrounded by crop fields
10/10 Excellent
"From the description, the property appeared to be a charming renovated farmhouse. It did not disappoint! The home itself has a wonderful history which was captured by the host in a beautiful presentation booklet in the living room. The updates did not distract from the original architecture which was still observable in many spaces. The home was our base of operations for our stay with two of our Williamsburg teenage grandchildren. It was convenient to the Bethpage Campground which housed a mini-golf course and delicious ice cream shoppe. We also attended a special race day at nearby Colonial Downs race track which featured not only race horses but also exotic animal racing of zebras, ostrich's and camels. Fun afternoon and evening for all! Each night the trip home was special as we observed many herds of deer in the pastures and just the non-rushed solemnity of the area. The home's kitchen was well-appointed and we ate many of our meals right there. Modern and up-to-date. We also made good use of the spacious tables for many board game competitions into the late hours.Stacy was a great host and answered our questions and made recommendations for things to do in the area. She made it a great experience!"
Family-friendly Main St Gloucester Apt w/ Balcony!
8/10 Good
"So the parking was a bit hard to find because it was down a side alleyway. When we got inside, none of the beds had sheets on them and the linens in the dryer were still a bit damp. I texted the host but got no response. There was brown stains on the memory foam mat in the kitchen and spider webs in the bathroom that we had to clean. I later called the host because the WiFi password wasn’t listed in the welcome book as written in the Evolve email. You cannot access the bedroom TV at the same time as the living room TV. The neighborhood is cute. There is good sunlight during the day. The fireplace provides good heat for post shower. The squatty potty was a good step stool for my kids to wash their hands. They had cotton pads, q-tips and spare toothbrushes if you forgot to pack your own. "
