WE INVITE YOU TO READ MORE ABOUT US AND OUR EXCLUSIVE TOURS
Your host can take you anywhere you need to go, just ask!
At Explore Paradise you can relax in the pool, read, eat under the private cabana, and watch for wildlife. Beautiful birds like orioles, Motmot birds, parrots, and many more are easily seen *we even saw howler monkeys). Bring cash to pay, as getting money in Liberia is not always easy *dollars are commonly accepted, and sometime credit cards are OK). The guest houses have modern conveniences including a full kitchen with groceries just 15 minutes away in Liberia. The most practical clothing is a bathing suit, but remember sunscreen and bug spray. Trips are very inexpensive when you figure you do not have to rent a car, and Eladio takes you to the exact location without any guesswork. Also, many of these locations would not be easily accessed by a car (Eladio has a 4wd Toyota, very rugged). Considering the limited time you might have in Costa Rica, taking a tour with Eladio is a great bargain! Considering the limited time you might have in Costa Rica, taking a tour with Eladio is a great bargain!
Secret waterfall hike: only 45 minutes from Explore Paradise, this secluded waterfall is an exciting back road drive and short hike away. On the way you will see colorful birds and Dry Forest foliage. A short scramble brings you to your own private waterfall and plunge pool! Glide gently into the water, or cliff dive like your guide. There are rocks to sit on/rest on, or take the short swim and sit under the falls!

Snorkel and Fishing Trip: A whole day excursion which includes a beautiful ride through small villages, stopping at a small fishing port about an hour away. From there you will take a wonderful boat ride, and if you like to fish get a line wet too! Then you will snorkel with your guide and … turtles, eagle rays, jack fish, puffers, and many many more. Bring your lunch and dine on your own tropical beach! Try not to get lonely, as there are no other people.

Rainforest: A whole day tour, ride over the continental divide and into the rain forest! Many rare and colorful birds, including toucans! You might also see a sloth (or two or three!), snakes, and many frogs (in the rainy season). Stop at a private hot spring for a relaxing soak before driving home.

Volcano and beach tour: About an hour away, the volcano is in the transitional forest (between the dry and rain forests). There are several volcanic features along a mild to moderate hike. Your host will point out many of the trees, and there are chances to see monkeys (howler monkeys) and many different birds. The beach is a wildlife refuge of white volcanic sand and there are some rocks that hold good amounts of fish. You can also enjoy wildlife such monkeys, coatis, mangrove birds and forest birds.

Horseback riding, climbing to the North West peack of Rincon de la Vieja Volcano. Riding for over open areas, after riding at transcitional forest. Until reaching the North West peak of the Rincón de la Vieja volcano. And get a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean

Palo Verde National Park: One of the rarest birds in Costa Rica, the Jabiru, can be spotted here. Eladio has hosted many ornithologists, and his experience will help you find this beautiful species. Also, crocodile, coati, and capuchin monkeys may be spotted This is a hot area, so make sure to stop at a local waterfall on the way home and cool off.

Love this
It was my first time coming to Costa Rica. Per the reviews, I decided to come here because they mentioned Eladio would take you places, and I’m so glad I did! He is very cordial and friendly and honest. There is a slight language barrier, but he tries his very best to give you the best experience. For the home, for the excursions. All absolutely amazing. If you ever need anything, just reach out to him, and you’ll be taken care of. I’m very grateful I stayed here.

Gracias Eladio y la Familia!
Eladios place was the perfect stay for me and my family. During our time we enjoyed time relaxing by the pool, and getting to know Eladio and his beautiful family. The hospitality they provided.....wow. I am forever grateful. Eladio provided many opportunities to explore. He is so passionate to share the beauty of his country and the wildlife. We spent many hours exploring the geography and the wildlife, never rushing- "tranquilo, tranquilo" with this, we were able to fully enjoy what costa rica has to offer. My favourite tour was the wildlife tour, but all were amazing. The house is tucked away about 15 minutes from Liberia. If you are looking for a quiet place, but in a central location to explore many of the national parks CR has to offer, this is a great spot. If you are looking for less of a tourist experience, and more of a local experience, and the bonus of meeting some wonderful people, I recommend spending time at Eladios place. Thank you Eladio, Vanessa and family, you all have pure hearts and we are so grateful you welcomed us so warmly to your home. I hope to see you again very soon, and wish you all nothing but the best in life!! Pura vida!!

Living like a Local
As others have said, it's not a five-star resort. We had misgivings when we arrived. But, we ended up liking the house better than a hotel. My friend and I stayed in the smaller two bedroom house. It was quite comfortable with air conditioning in both bedrooms, comfortable seating, and a well equipped kitchen. The property is private (but right off Rte 1) and the bird song was incredible. There are lots of iguanas making appearance and even howler monkeys. We rented the house as we saw the host, Eladio, offered tours and said we wouldn't need to rent a car. Eladio took us to the grocery store the first night. We then went on two most excellent tours with him - Rainforest tour and Wildlife tour. Both were so unique - definitely off the beaten path and private. Eladio's vehicle is seasoned, so to say, and would not be acceptable to many. But, it worked out for our trip and we very much enjoyed getting a taste of Costa Rican life.

Great Authentic Experience
Overall, our stay was awesome! It is difficult to separate the property from the overall experience. Eladio is full of energy and he is passionate about being in nature. He arranged transportation to and from the property since we did not rent a car. My son (11) enjoyed being in the "log cabin" and swimming in the pool every day and night (there are pool lights). We saw iguanas and lots of birds right outside. There is a nice and relaxing deck outside of the bedrooms and patio seating next to the pool. Like the other reviews, I guess you could call this rustic; there are some updates that would make it more convenient, which Eladio is working on. However, I like to think of it as living more like a local for a few days. It definitely reminded me of my Peace Corps days. It is nothing like a hotel. The kitchen (which is downstairs) is spacious, clean, and had a variety of pots/pans/dishes. We stayed up each night playing games. Remember to stop by the grocery store before arriving and buy the basics (oil, salt, pepper, etc. and any food you want to cook). We went to Walmart which was not far away. The A/C in the bedrooms was so good that I had to turn them off in the middle of the night. Eladio's tours are fun, very private, and at your own pace. I loved being in this area because most people did not speak English compared to the beach towns, which made the experience more authentic.

Rustic accommodations
The accommodations were rustic, with two upstairs bedrooms sharing one bathroom. Air conditioning was only available in the bedrooms. There was also an outdoor sink and toilet available. The property was generally clean, but the bathrooms require some attention. Eladio was very friendly and helpful and this was appreciated.

Rustic but authentic Costa Rica
This is a rustic property… so if you are looking for 5 star accommodations look elsewhere. But If you are looking for an authentic Costa Rica experience, hosts who have true Pura Vida hearts and who bring you in like family, this is the place for you! Eladio and his family are welcoming and real… I will always remember them! Don’t miss at least one of Eladio’s amazing tours! He spent a 14 hour day with us, showing us Costa Rica in all her glory, a private river tour, lunch in a local Soda with delicious food made by hand. He drove us around roads we would never have found on our own, and the wildlife was amazing. We topped off the day with a night tour… frogs, sloths, delicious tree ripened bananas. Thank you Eladio, Vanessa, Gabriel and Ana Lucia. Your hospitality will never be forgotten!

If you are looking to stay with amazing people from Costa Rica look no further. If you are looking for a chance to have authentic costa Rica food delivered to your house if desired look no further. If you are looking for a tour guide who knows Costa Rica better than anyone in the Liberia area look no further. If you are looking to go on tours with little to no other tourists look no further. The owners are amazing people who know and love Costa Rica. If you are a looking for a once in a lifetime surf experience look no further.

Eladio is the Salt of the Earth
If you are looking for an authentic Costa Rican experience then look no further. If you are looking for ritzy accommodations then this is not for you. Eladio was an excellent host. The adventures that we book through him were exceptional and very memorable. He goes out of his way to ensure you have the best experience possible. We went to a secluded beach, did horseback riding and zip lining and made tortillas at a top notch farm. We saw crocodiles, Jabirus, deer, howler monkeys, toucans, sloths, red eye tree and glass frogs, snakes, an anteater!, and many many other wildlife. We showered in a forest waterfall. Our experiences were extraordinary. Thank you, Eladio, for a fantastic anniversary vacation.

Looking forward to returning to Eladio's Place.
Rustic accommodations for up to 6 people, maybe more. Very clean and well cared for. The property is beautiful with a nice pool and manicured ornamental gardens. Very secure and safe with the ideal location for exploring Guanacaste. Eladio and Vanessa were very caring and attentive to our needs.
