"Front desk staff were wonderful. The rooms and facility as a whole lacked cleanliness. Floors were always dirty in main areas. The room hadn't been dusted in a while, there was hair from previous people throughout our room. Our floor hadn't been vacuumed prior to us getting there. Bathroom floor was gross and the baseboards were very dirty and had hair all over them. Definitely not the cleanest HIE we've stayed. The room was very humid and sticky too. Breakfast was decent."

"We stayed in a two double bed room. Beds were comfortable, room was clean , staff were friendly and pleasant, cookies and popcorn bar clean, fresh, delicious. Breakfast had basic variety but biscuits were hard, eggs on the colder side.. very clean breakfast room, coffee refreshed in a timely manner. The only thing we didn’t like about the room was the lack of privacy- the toilet and shower are separated only by a barn door, even with door closed, you could see the person taking a shower in the mirror of the sink and there is no real privacy for using the toilet as it isn’t a latching door."

"It could be a really nice place to stay while visiting Charleston. However, there is a huge problem with the management. No one seemed to care about the quality of service- there was no coffee at breakfast, no bottled water, no utensils to eat what little was offered! The coffee filter in the room did not fit the machine and I was told to just shove it in to make it fit, we couldn't get the TV to work and we were told at the desk they knew nothing about it, no help.. I just couldn't help thinking how 1 or 2 really good employees would make a world of difference! Unfortunate!"

"Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our room was ok. The bedroom was much smaller than expected. The room could have been cleaned much better. I only saw one housekeeper during our stay, so maybe she is overwhelmed. The fridge didn’t appear to be wiped on the outside as there were fingerprints and food on it. The mirror in the bathroom and full length closet mirror were extremely dirty. My teenage son slept on the pull out couch. When he pulled it out, there was rust all over the mattress from the frame. Main bed was quite worn out on one side, but after I traded sides with my kid, I slept a bit better the second night. Although we didn’t get a chance to use the pool, it looked clean and well kept. Same with the exterior of the property. My sons enjoyed using the basketball court. We brought our own ball. Not sure if they have one to borrow. Breakfast was ok - nothing fancy… Just your basic motel breakfast. One thing I’d like to point out, is it seems as this hotel now has some contracts with construction and/or no road companies. There were a ton of male employees there for work. They would be sitting in their trucks at night, outside around the property, etc. I’m not easily intimidated, and had my 6ft teenage son with me, so I felt safe for the most part. However, this may be uncomfortable for some women, especially if traveling solo - so just a heads up. I would possibly consider staying again, but mainly due to the outdoor pool and basketball court."
