I love this hotel because its individual not a formula hotel. The staff are always great and helpful, the rooms clean and comfortable. The food is excellent, the location cant be beaten, and all in all its a great place to stay in Buxton
Convenient to local restaurants, shopping, and parks. Room 36 was spacious and had a view of park across the street. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was included and delicious.

Good size clean room, comfortable bed and chairs, an old property with damp coming through ceiling of bay window but the building is being renovated. Very good location close to all amenities. Overall very good value for the money!

The hotel is full of character, creaky floor boards and all. Comfortable beds and nice bathroom. Breakfast was good. Excellent parking outside the hotel. We had evening meal at their sister hotel The Crescent just around the corner which was excellent. It was our second visit to The Old Hall great value for money.

The location is fantastic for Buxton Opera House. The hotel is old and quirky. Our room was nice. It had both a shower and a bath. The breakfast was good and staff were helpful when we couldn't get our TV working.
Staff helpfull and pleasant..decent room comfortable good clean bed.Enjoyed the set up for breakfast good choice of foods and staff ready to help. the same in the bar..
This over five hundred years old hotel is an interesting place. Wonky floors creaking everywhere (we’d all be creaking long before five hundred years old) Going up a slight slope to the bathroom is novel.
Breakfast is very good. Comfortable beds. Great location.
brewing facilities inadequate no tea just two sachets of coffee 1 orange tea and a hot chocolate loads of milk but no teabags not adequate for tow people. Room was great vintage furniture bath and shower excellent. Enjoyed our visit breakfast was excellent would stop again.

There was a mixup with the rooms when we checked in and they changed our rooms to something simple which was great. A very higgeldy piggeldy hotel layout but it worked out in the end. Breakfast was fine. But not enough staff on hand.
We had an excellent stay, for an old hotel it was very well looked after. Staff were super friendly and the breakfast was good. Excellent position in the town. Will stay again.

Room and bathroom were lovely,we did have to ask for replacement tea and coffee and clean cups for the room after the first night stay,Was disappointed with the breakfast on the first morning of our stay it was cold and the bacon we couldn't cut it,it was better on the second morning,The staff in the bar were very nice, the overall look of the bar could be made more comfortable/inviting.Overall we have had a lovely 2 night stay.
The room was lovely very spacious it was a four poster bed we laughed every night when I tried to get in it was so high but im only 5 foot the only thing was that there were short of staff at the reception desk but you had to go and find someone in the bar area but that was ok it dint spoil anything

Fantastic old building, used by Mary Queen of Scots. Bueatiful rooms. Lift very old and unreliable, which was difficult for my wife who has limited mobility.
Great location. Charming old building. Very helpful staff. Parking outside hotel. Good breakfast with great choice including healthy options. Very quiet room. Spacious room and bathroom.
Historic place to stay in the centre of Buxton, very handy for all the sights, bars and restaurants. Room was fine and very comfortable. Public areas a little tired but that didn't detract from our stay. Excellent breakfast.
Let's start with the positive. Fantastic location close to pubs & restaurants
Bed comfortable.
Very disappointed, the hotel was very run down & tired. Staff were not welcoming and lacked enthusiasm. Buffet breakfast very average. Parking was difficult, You can purchase a 24 hr parking pass. But a parking space is not guaranteed if you decide to go visit the surrounding areas. Dog friendly at a cost of £20 a night, front door locked at 11pm. Sadly, we checked out early. Not recommended.

The staff were so helpful & friendly.
The beds were extremely comfortable.
Sadly, the hotel has a lot of problems, from the lift (confusing instructions in it), to the rooms - understanding totally that it was an old building, and the lack of signage from the lift to my room - 33.
The breakfast was poor. Judging by the amounts left on every persons plates, I wasn't the only one who thought this!
