Nice quiet apartment with the basics plus a great view. But I never would have found the right apartment with the info she gave me if a kind man in the wrong building (which matched the address) hadn't helped me. She had even given me the wrong code. I would say I should have asked more questions, but she never answered my emails before the trip. No info on how to connect to wifi or how to use appliances. We have traveled lots of places and even lived abroad for a year, so we realize things are going to be different, but if someone gives you an address, you expect it to work! Fortunately we could figure out why the water was cold--the water heater was turned off!
Travel is so good for us to be able to understand ourselves and others that it is a shame to make it harder than it needs to be.
I would suggest at the very least that VRBO check the address of the apartments. We've rented places in Paris, London. and Oslo, and never had problems. This owner was also rude. The apartment was fine, but the host needed to be more helpful. Just as an added tip, we found the taxis cheap and dependable.
