"Location and price were good for Lucerne - bus stop right in front of the hotel and just 7 min ride to train station/main area. City bus pass is included with your stay. Rooms are very compact but did the job. AC worked and was great for the heat wave! Minimal storage or space to open our bags and hang our things. We were in a triple room and it was tight, but manageable. We were able to borrow a hair dryer and iron + board and extra towels from front desk without issues. We didn’t do the breakfast, looked basic/small but adequate (not worth the $15 CHF price tag in my opinion). Grocery store next door, we went there for some fresh pastries. They stored our luggage for free on our check-out day which was a great convenience. We didn’t need parking but were told it was very limited and first come first serve, so if you are driving, be mindful of this. Also, we stayed 2 nights and housekeeping did not come on our in between day. Overall, good location, clean, small, has the basics. A good budget option in Lucerne."

Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern

Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern

10/10 Excellent
"Great location near the old town and in front of the water. The best part is that you can swim in the lake in front of the hotel. The hotel looks great but it feels to me some of the server lack training and perhaps the chain is getting bigger as it doesn’t feel special anymore. In other high end hotels the check in is special, here it feels like any other check in."
