Period Cotswold Cottage in Laverton village, ideal for walking the Coyswold Way
Recently refurbished Bowmeadow Cottage is over four hundred years old and steeped in history. Enjoy your stay in an authentic Cotswold Cottage, lovingly restored to retain period features and furnished with antiques. Relax in front of the large inglenook fireplace in the cosy sitting room, eat in the dining room and study overlooking the garden. The kitchen with Belfast sink is well equipped and there is a separate boot room with washing machine, tumble drier, and downstairs W.C. On the first floor the bedroom has a King size bed with an en-suite shower room. White cotton bedlinen, dressing gowns and towels make your stay as comfortable as possible. On summer days French doors open to the garden for alfresco dining or barbecues. Open the front door to The Cotswold Way, a paradise for walkers and cyclists, or why not ride over the Cotswold Hills at Jill Carenzas’ famous riding school located in the nearby village of Stanton. There is private off-road parking for two cars, and a garden shed storage for bicycles. The village of Laverton is situated 2 miles south of the historic village of Broadway with Museums, Art galleries and shops to explore, and an excellent range of places to eat from traditional pubs to excellent cuisine of the famous, The Lygon Arms, The House of George and Russells.
The village of Laverton is a cluster of cottages and farmhouses, built of local Cotswold stone, the oldest dating back at least to the 17th century. The village is at the foot of the Cotswold hills and footpaths link to neighbouring villages of Stanton, Snowshill and Buckland.
Situated in a quiet position in the village the cottage has its own off-road parking and private garden.
On the ground floor is a sitting room with large inglenook fireplace, a well-equipped kitchen with fridge freezer, dishwasher, cooker and breakfast table, a dining room/ study with French doors open to the garden. There is a downstairs cloakroom and separate laundry room with washing machine, tumble drier and sink.
On the first floor the comfortable principal bedroom has a King size bed with an en-suite shower room furnished with white cotton bedlinen, dressing gowns and fresh fluffy towels.
On summer days French doors open to the garden for alfresco dining or barbecues.
There is private off-road parking for two cars, and a garden shed storage for bicycles.
The area is a paradise for walkers and cyclists; the Cotswold Way passes through the village. There is so much to do and see close by from visiting historic houses and gardens, exploring local towns and villages, and eating at fantastic food establishments. Why not ride over the Cotswold Hills at Jill Carenzas’ famous riding school or take a trip on the Steam Train to Broadway.
Visit local towns of Broadway, Chipping Campden, Winchcombe, and Stow on the Wold. Visit historical Sudley Castle, Stanway House Fountain, Hidcote Garden or famous Adam Hendersons Cotswold Farm Park. Visit National Trust Snowshill Manor and Gardens and have lunch at the local Pub The Snowshill Arms, visit Snowshill Lavender, Enjoy fabulous local country pubs or just relax on a summers evening in the garden or in the cosy sitting room in front of the fire.
