"We arrived at checkin time, the only ones… we booked high floor, parking and breakfast. As we checked in - our room was unavailable… so they found us a new room. After having to go back to reception to get our key to work in the elevator we managed to make our way to the replacement room. We opened the doors and walked in on the people who were staying in the replacement room… fortunately for all they weren’t in flagrante.. so we went back to reception. They offered us a lower room which I declined, eventually we got a medium corner room which was nice enough. As compensation for the complete mess around, including trying to charge me extra for parking, we were told we had some drink vouchers in our key pocket - it was one hours drink, for a couple… as compensation for the wrong room, an occupied room and a 30 minute check in! Needless to say this experience was less than ideal. It could easily have soured our whole trip but we are good people and managed to laugh about it. I feel for the people whose room we entered. I appreciate the late shift staff who were awesome. They also neglected to have us on the list for breakfast the next morning but that wasn’t a surprise… hotel - 3 stars, experience 0 stars. (Ps the pub - the park, was absolutely excellent 5 stars). Finally - no double glazing - got woken up by traffic and was super loud."
