Hidden Gem on Westport Island

Welcome to Mid-Coast Maine! Our island house has woodsy privacy, a lovely water view and access to our dock on the Sheepscot River...all within a 10 minute drive from Route 1. The path to the dock is steep, but we use it regularly and are in our 60s and 70s. Inside our house, we have a queen bedroom on the first floor and a double bedroom and a twin bedroom upstairs. We can privately sleeps 5 but a 6th space is available on a comfortable twin pull-out couch in our upstairs loft. We keep our fully equipped kitchen with oven, stovetop, microwave, toaster, coffee maker stocked with cooking basics like: olive oil, vinegar, spices, flour, sugar as well as tea and coffee . We have two full bathrooms and a washer/dryer if you need it.
Our spacious deck overlooking the Sheepscot River provides glorious views. Many birds live in our area - including a pileated woodpecker!
We provide a 2-person canoe, a single kayak and a 2-person sit-on-top type ocean kayak. We also provide a charcoal grill with necessary grilling tools. Our yard is shady with grass for a good place to use our various balls, frisbees and even a corn hole game. We have our yard and periphery treated with an organic mosquito and tick repellent to help reduce these summertime pests.
Two sandy ocean beaches and one lake beach, along with many shops, restaurants and galleries are within 30 minutes from Rocky Road. Portland, the largest city near us, is an easy hour's drive with all of its cultural offerings.

Fabulous, relaxing stay
We had a wonderful time at Rocky Road! The house is wonderfully clean, and has everything you could need. We really enjoyed canoeing, and watching the world go by from the deck. We can't wait to go back!

wonderful secluded water view.
Great location! Easy access to Route 1 while secluded with a nice overview of the water. Walk to trails along the river with great birds and wildlife including seals on seal rock. Very comfortable house with all the amenities needed.

Homey Get-Away Cabin
My husband and I with our two teenagers were very comfortable and happy while staying at the cabin. I like that each of the kids had separate bedroom. The view was breath taken and it was very quiet the whole time we were there. My favorite feature was the full-size kitchen with plenty of cookware and condiments, especially many Asian kind. Carol was very attractive in communication and making sure we could get help and support if needed. The entertainment, such as board games and TV app, was provided and it was great. Hot water was impressively hot and almost instant. With permission, we were able to host our small family gathering for a wonderful family lunch. We are very happy with our trip and definitely will return to this vacation cabin in the future. :)

Fabulous well-stocked home
Beautiful but a little hard to find in the dark! LOL! The owner walked us through it. The view is gorgeous! We had pictured it was a flatter piece, but the stairs to the dock are 60. My son went down them but definitely not me! Beds very comfortable and close-by village Wiscassett is very charming. You would enjoy it, I think especially in summer to use outdoor canoe/boat. But we went at fall-time for the area’s leaf color.

10/10 Stars
I wish there were more stars to give this incredible property in Maine. I've stayed in quite a few VRBO properties over the years & this is the best one I've ever stayed in. The location, privacy & outdoor spaces were our favorite as well as all of the windows & the well-appointed kitchen. We appreciated all of the organization & notes to help find things. The games, puzzles, binoculars, etc were all fun to have on hand & the home is very thoughtfully appointed. The view is beautiful as well & the beds are very comfortable. I hope to stay again someday!

Relaxing Retreat
We had a lovely time at this beautiful home. The location is private and peaceful with sparkling views of the water. We enjoyed walking the property and the views from the dock. The solarium was a favorite spot for reading and chatting with friends. The kitchen and pantry have everything you might need to help create a fabulous feast. We enjoyed exploring the island and visiting the attractions on it. We also explored the nearby towns and festivals. The owners have taken care that we have every comfort accessible at their home. I would love to return to this property in the future.

Restful retreat
Our recent stay was perfect! This home is beautiful and well equipped, neat and clean as you walk in the door. We pent our mornings in the sunroom or in the deck watching fish jump or lobstermen checking their traps, enjoying the outdoors. This home is well located for day trips to other midcoast towns and a sweet retreat at the end of a busy day. Looking forward to our next stay!
