"We love this place! We have stayed here twice now, once at The Roost and this time at the Shroom With A View, and each cabin offers something different but wonderful. We're already talking about which one to stay at next. If you're a birder, the Shroom cabin sits right on the edge of a clearing and I had a lot of great warblers giving me great views from the deck. We also had a chipmunk come to visit and saw a mama bear with 2 cubs on the drive up! Nature lovers will absolutely LOVE this place....

"Overall, we had a great stay! Great price and location. Lots of space. About 20 mins from downtown. The heat and AC worked well. The parking was a bit confusing, as we were a group of 6 with 4 cars. The first communication from the host was to park on the driveway but the later communication said to park on the street. We ended up parking 3 on the driveway and 1 on the street (the driveway is quite difficult to walk up and down). The hot tub was not ready upon arrival, it was in Econ/Sleep mode and it took us awhile to get it to work, but we finally figured it out! It takes hours to heat up. Once it was working properly, it was nice and hot. During our second night it went back into sleep mode though. :( Our main issue with this rental was that we really weren’t given a “starter supply” of anything. Typically when I rent places and they give us starter supplies, that means a new roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, a roll of paper towels, etc. and then you may need to buy more depending on the length of your stay and the number of people. I’ve never had to replenish basic necessities during a short weekend trip. But we had to buy toilet paper and paper towels because one bathroom didn’t have any and the other one only had a very meager amount left, I guess the remnants from the guests before us. Also, the garage door doesn’t close and remains open, just an FYI."

"The basics were met. HVAC worked well, it did not run and run and room held temp. Keurig in lobby available at all times. Liked old school bedding; duvets at lots of hotels make you a sweaty mess but not their covers. I would not highly rate bathroom. Quality of soap and shampoo dispensers are low. The bathroom walls dated and worn and the toilet paper dispenser is hanging on by a thread. There is a large gap at bottom of our room, 103, making it easy for the spider that was in our bed to get in as well as a cold draft. We pushed rubber mat up against door and it helped. There are not enough places to discard cigarettes so people flicking them outside rooms. Live cable TV but there was no channel guide card to reference. Staff very helpful. Felt safe parking car as hotel and parking lot brightly lit. If looking for place to eat the Ole Guacamole is excellent with extensive menu with unique offerings unlike other Mex places. Bottom line is we would return if the issues I reported were cleaned up or put in a better room."

"Fabulous Hampton Inn located so well within walking distance of charming and booming Black Mountain with restaurants and shops and artisan galleries. Easy drive to Asheville as well and the room rate was 40% less than properties just minutes away. Quiet with great service and friendly staff at the check in desk as well as the breakfast area. It is worthy of the 10 out of 10 rating it has received..."

"I would definitely stay there again and I will recommend it to family and friends. The owner/manager was very friendly and helpful. The room was extremely clean. I loved parking right in front of my room. The mattresses were new and very comfortable. The pillows were comfortable too, and I loved the quality of the linens. I believe this room has recently been renovated and the owner said they are continuing to upgrade the entire motel. The outside has a vintage feel to it which I love. Don’t let that turn you away. Lake Tomahawk is a short drive down the street. It is a must see. This motel is very convenient to most anything you may need. Eat at the eatery across the street. The coffee and food was great."

"My hubby & I needed a respite & this cozy little cabin was the perfect solution for a two night stay. The views were incredible from most windows & the back deck was perfect for watching the sunset over the mountains. Trees were beginning to turn fall colors so it was extra breathtaking! We enjoyed all the amenities especially the hot tub! A quick drive to Black Mountain for shopping & dining although I think a vehicle with AWD OR 4WD would've helped making it up the rocky driveway. NOT a deal breaker though as we just took our time! Very peaceful & relaxing! We really appreciated how comfortable & private the place felt. Didn't want to leave so soon! It's clear the hosts cherish their home since it's very well maintained inside & out & full of cheery bear decor!"

"The staff was amazing from start to finish. The room was clean and sooo cute although we now know for next time to get a bigger room, my husband takes up a lot of space. Breakfast was so yummy. I had the pumpkin pancakes and they were amazing. Parking was easy and loved being able to remote start the car from our room (the weather chose to turn to cold that weekend). Will defiantly be going back. Also they left us a little Happy Anniversary card in our room."
