Our home is a 5 minute walk from downtown Bennington. That being said, it is in a quiet, residential area and is set back form the road quite a bit. While you'll be close to shops and restaurants, you'll be in a quiet area, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown.

You'll have complete access to the home, surrounding yard, and hot tub. There a few doors that are locked and marked private, which include storage closets and the basement. We ask that guests refrain from going into those spaces.

Welcome to our historic inn! This historic home, built by original Green Mountain Boy Samuel Safford in 1774, combines the beauty, charm, and décor of old-fashioned homes, with the comfort and amenities of modern living. New updates include a bar room, a game room, and a hot tub. There are several gathering areas, which makes this home perfect for hosting large events such as family gatherings! Our large kitchen is fully functional with all major appliances and even contains an industrial sink; however the kitchen is not as polished as the rest of the home. Though much of the home has been updated, care was taken to preserve much of the wood work that was done in the original construction. We guarantee, the detail in the original work will astound you!

Our home has 6 bedrooms with the following set-up:

In addition, we have another full bathroom in the game room and a half bathroom in the bar room.

Our home is perfect for a ski trip! We are within an hour's drive from many world-class ski resorts including Mt. Snow, Stratton Mountain, and Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort. Our home also has several electric fireplaces, providing a cozy, comfortable atmosphere to come home to. After a day on the slopes, come back and enjoy our hot tub!

This home is a 10 minute walk from historic, downtown Bennington. Bennington is most well-known for the Bennington Battle Monument, which commemorates the Battle of Bennington during the American Revolutionary War and for being the resting place of Robert Frost, renowned American poet. Bennington is also home to several small art galleries and museums. Once you're done exploring, enjoy many of the restaurants and breweries within walking distance! There's also a fabulous restaurant, The Miller's Toll, right next to the house. We definitely recommend you make a reservation at this restaurant before your stay!

IMPORTANT NOTE: We have an occupied apartment adjacent to the main house, on the third floor. There is no access between the apartment and the main house.

We also ask guests to keep pets off of all furniture including beds. This makes cleaning easier and also protects future guests with allergies. Lastly, pets (especially dogs) MUST be crated if left alone in the home. If these particular rules are not followed, an additional fee may be added at the end of your stay.

⭐The hot tub is available year round! We ask that guests be sure to shower prior to using this wonderful amenity, as this ensures the water stays clean and clear. If the hot tub is left in a dirty and messy state, there will be an additional cleaning fee.

⭐Under no circumstances do we allow smoking/vaping in the house. Smoking/vaping is allowed outside, far away from the entrances and windows of the house. We ask guests to refrain from tossing cigarettes onto the property.
