「I love the quirkiness of this hotel which is also a bar & a tabac. It’s typically local French establishment with no pretensions. The dinner & breakfast is of a good standard & satisfying. The bedrooms are clean & somewhat eccentric, so it helps if you have a sense of humour. It’s right on the D393 which is a fantastic biking road between Bar sur Aube & Dijon. I use it at least twice a year, so will be back soon. 」

「Room spotless. Comfortable bed & lovely bathroom. But awfully small. Could only open 1 bag at a time. Check in instructions only came through 10mins before our arrival. Just not good enough for us. But all in all (& for the price) was excellent. Chaumont is a beautiful town. Buffalo Grill brilliant!!」

「Our check in could be described as perfunctory boarding on the brusque . Upon arrival and pressing the bell we waited a few minutes and someone came along. Didn’t introduce himself or even say “ Welcome etc”, just “what is your name, then your room number is, handed over keys and asked about breakfast. We weren’t even told about the residents lounge ( which we discovered the next morning - a bit too late by then). Rooms were moderately clean, with a couple of spiders and cobwebs in the ceiling...

「Nous ne recommandons absolument pas cet hôtel, nous y sommes allés en couple pour un week-end : la réceptionniste était totalement débordée. Les propriétaires n’emploient pas assez d’employés pour gérer un hôtel de cet envergure. Douche sans rideau ce qui mouille toute la salle de bain, trace de chaussures dans notre chambre, piscine pas propre, verres sales (en plastique), serviettes qui sentent mauvais, pas de volet.
