As you were not satisfied, you were advised to make a claim to the police. You finally did not do it. Instead we called them as we wanted to clarify the whole situation. Facts have to be proved. The police checked our security system as well as the registration of the people who entered the room as we have electronic access to every door. You were sure that the necklace was in the room because your mother-in-law put it there, and you said she is very methodical and organized. However while I was in the room with you, we could see that she had forgotten to collect her plug-adaptor, and she could not remember that the night before, she has dropped something at the room entrance floor (as the CCTV system shows). In any case, we wanted you to have more pleasant farewell of your stay: the extra charges were removed from your bill; a late check-out was offered, but you refused it; transfer to the airport was offered, but you did not confirm it; you just wanted not to pay for the accommodation, and you wished that, more than any other thing, even more than the necklace to appear. Even though you called us "liars", even though your husband slammed furiously the concierge counter with very bad manners, we really did our best, as we would have done with any other guests, no matter where they come from.
