I paid $399 for one night stay and the plumbing in the bathroom was clog up in the toilet and sink and we was afraid to that bath. The phone to the front desk want hook up and when we moved the night stand to look for the cord, there was so much trash and dirt that we pack up and left.

Advertised breakfast was very poorly prepped. Ran out of coffee, very limited items. No butter or margarine out. Better to say it's not offered.

Housekeeping did not clean our room at all. The first day the housekeepercaught me in the hall and asked if we neede service for that day and I saud no because we got in late te night before. They never cleaned or stocked our room during our stay.

Don’t waste your money
The elevator smelled really bad and the room was just okay. The bottom drawer to the stand in the room kept opening up and wouldn’t stay shut. We almost tripped over it. We had to place our suitcase in front of it in order to keep it shut. The beds were not comfortable. Until checking out the next morning, there was nobody at the front desk to check us out. We had to wait about 20 minutes for someone to appear at the checkout desk

Choice Hotels are not the best. So I knew when I was selecting this, not to have high expectations. HOWEVER, It had some really good ratings, so I thought that maybe this would be a new hotels. I was definitely wrong on that. It is older and it is evident that the owners could care less about the optics. The chair the desk clerks (I don't know the proper title) were using was ridiculously old and used. The material had been rubbed off on half of the darn chair! An office chair is $100 at Staples or Office Depot. You mean to tell me NO ONE can purchase a chair! How cheap is that!?? OUTRAGEOUS. The foyer furniture looks like the 60s and and is very old also--once again, how much does furniture cost that a hotel can't purchase some new furniture for this very small foyer area. The chairs at the tables in the dining area were almost as bad as the office chair, they had the original material rubbed off on the sides. The phone in my room didn't have a cord, I walked downstairs and informed them of that. My room smelled like mold. I DID expect the furniture in the room to be older and it was. Other than that, it was quiet (which I appreciated) and the staff were pleasant, courteous and professional. It just seems their leadership does not care too much for their customers (because of the optics), nor their employees, if they can't get up enough money to buy one office chair. I won't be staying here again.

A welcome stay at comfort inn.
We had a very good and comfortable stay. The service was a highlight. The room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Value was way above average.

Satisfactory stay
No frills hotel. Everything was satisfactory. Room was clean. Everything here just needs a little update & fixing up. I didn’t notice a bad smell & definitely not any bed bugs that we saw, was worried about other bad reviews. The breakfast was typical. Beds were decently comfortable.

Slightly outdated, but comfy and safe
Very comfortable bed! Carpet was a little musty and the duvet had a small stain but otherwise it was clean overall. A perfect little 1 night stop. Felt very safe.

I really enjoyed my stay in Barboursville, West Virginia. The staff at the hotel were friendly and the people in the town were very kind and welcoming.

Chaos at front desk
Chaos at the front desk. Clerk gave room and that already had someone else’s belongings in it. There were people at checkout complaining about double charges. Front desk staff seemed inept. The room was fine and breakfast was good.

The staff was nice and helpful. The breakfast was fine. The beds, bathrooms, and pool were clean. The carpeting in the rooms is old, dirty, and stained and needs to be replaced. The chairs in the rooms, breakfast area, and entry are worn and need to be replaced/updated. The location is convenient and centrally located.

Walking into the hotel, there were guests smoking right outside the door (where we had to walk through). The staff was helpful. Was first given a room that was DEFINITELY smoking (whole hotel is "non-smoking"). Second room was very musty, but limited other options to switch. Took time for a/c to try to help. Carpet has seen better days, and did not attempt to use the pool as there appeared to be a skim/floaters on the top.

Picked the best hotel!
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Unlike some other places I’ve stayed recently, they had an amazing continental breakfast. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable. Quiet area convenient to just about everything.

High online rating is a farce! The employees were the only good thing about the place. I paid $30 less for a hotel in Morgantown the night before and the that hotel was in much better condition and was much cleaner. I will never stay in a Comfort Inn again.
