FESTIVAL: An Architect-Designed House in the Heart of Avignon

Located in the heart of the historic centre, in the Italian district, it is ideally located to take full advantage of the OFF Festival, the many theatres, restaurants, cafes and the lively life of the downtown. Despite this central location, the house is nestled in the heart of a particularly quiet block, in a traffic-free cul-de-sac, offering a real haven of peace after the shows.

The accommodation
🏡 A warm and bright family home

Typical of the Italian district, this small townhouse dating from the end of the nineteenth century has been completely renovated with care by a couple of architects in recent years. Very bright, colourful and comfortable, it combines natural materials, atypical spaces and a warm atmosphere. Its shaded garden is a real green setting in the heart of Avignon, a cool and peaceful refuge where it is good to meet between two shows.

The house is particularly pleasant to live in thanks to its many living spaces, its shaded garden and its large equipped kitchen.

The house is composed as follows:

◼On the first floor:
Small shaded terrace

🌬 The whole is cooled by ceiling fans.

◼ On the first floor:
- A children's bedroom with single bed 90 x 190 cm
- A small bedroom that can accommodate a baby (toddler bed 60 x 120 cm) or an adult (single bed 80 x 200 cm)
- A modular guest bedroom: double bed 160 x 200 cm or two single beds 80 x 200 cm. It is a sofa bed but composed of 2 real bed bases and mattresses (15cm thick) from the Emma brand.

- Separate toilet

◼ On the second floor:
- Large bedroom under the roof with double bed 160 x 200 cm

▶ Note: two of the bedrooms as well as the bathroom are separated from the adjacent spaces by curtains rather than doors. This open configuration contributes to the charm and feeling of space of the house, but may not be suitable for those looking for a complete acoustic separation between rooms.

👩🏼 🤝 👩🏼 Sleeps:

◼ The house can comfortably accommodate up to 4 adults, with different possible configurations for a child and/or a baby.

◼ It will be particularly suitable for two couples with children, to a family or friends who have come to enjoy the Festival.

◼ In order to preserve the tranquility of the neighborhood and the peaceful atmosphere of this heart of the block, the house is not suitable for parties or festive gatherings. We are looking for careful travellers who will enjoy this place as a real family home.


🎠An ideal home with young children:

We live here with our two young children. You will therefore find many equipment for babies and young children on site: high chair, changing table, books, toys, adapted dishes, etc. The staircase is quite spectacular, but safety barriers are installed to make it safe for the little ones to move around.

🌡Summer comfort:

The house is not air-conditioned, but it has good thermal inertia, shaded areas and fans in all the bedrooms as well as in the living rooms.

All rooms are equipped with mosquito nets and/or mosquito repellent sockets.

Our cat, Pâté Croûte, will stay on site during your stay. Very discreet and independent, he simply appreciates being given his kibble and water. In summer, he spends most of his time outdoors and no special litter management is normally necessary for a short period of time.

Traveller access
During the Festival, access to the historic centre is regulated. Vehicles can circulate in the downtown until noon. After that, the area becomes mainly pedestrianised, except for authorised residents.

The Italians' park-and-ride is about a 10-minute walk from the house (or 5 minutes by free shuttle). Once settled, all travel is easily done on foot.
