Rustic Luxury Near Charlottesville & Wineries/Sauna - A Historic Cabin Retreat

Antique log cabin C. 1810, recently relocated and lovingly restored. We are approximately 20 miles from Charlottesville, local to numerous wineries, and 38 miles from Massanutten Ski Resort. Here you can enjoy a rustic getaway, with all of the modern features you need to be perfectly comfortable. You will find yourself surrounded by an abundance of wildlife: Deer, Turkey, Foxes, Eagles, Osprey, Herons and more (a bird-watcher’s paradise!). Look out the window and be met with top notch country views- 110 acres of rolling pastures, pristine ponds, and marked walking trails. If you plan to use the trails or ponds, let us know and we will be happy to give you a tour upon arrival! Our trout pond was re-stocked mid-October, 2025 with approx. 800 lbs. of Rainbow trout, averaging between 2-3 lbs. Watch the video tour to see a clip of a past release! Many citation fish are caught from our ponds annually. A sportsman's delight!

For the ultimate in relaxation, try our private 3-person sauna.

While pets are generally discouraged, we are pet tolerant depending on the age, size and breed of the animal. Please inquire before booking.

Absolutely beautiful and peaceful setting! My family stayed here the week leading up to our daughter's wedding and the cabin had everything we needed to relax as we made finally preparations. Great Cabin in a Beautiful Location

Friends Reunion

Wonderful cabin in idyllic setting providing a cozy space to kick back and relax. Wineries within a short distance along with historic tour of Montpelier. Highly recommend!

Great trip

What a great spot! The home and property are truly amazing, and our kids had a terrific time fishing at the different ponds. Wik is a great host and we’d be happy to come back, a great trip all around.

Great place to stay. Very quiet and peaceful. Cabin was very clean and had great bathrooms. Host greeted us and showed us the property at the beginning of our stay and was available on site our entire stay. Will definitely try to book it again if ever in thearea again.

Weekend Stay

We were in the area for only a short weekend for a family wedding at the nearby Market at Grelen. The cabin and its setting are amazing. We enjoyed spending time there on the porch and the surrounding land Saturday morning just taking in the quiet and beauty. We wish we’d had more time. The property is located in a great area to take days trips to several attractions or just enjoy, as we did, the property itself. Wik is a great host, taking time to greet you and checking in to make sure everything is going ok.

Relaxing & Beautiful Cabin!

What a perfect stay! The cabin and property are simply beautiful! The cabin had everything we needed and everyone in our party had a wonderful and comfortable stay. Wik met us on site to ensure we had what we needed and was very easy to get in touch with! We loved all of the personal touches in the cabin and hope to be back! If you are looking for a relaxing weekend, this is the place to stay! Perfect for 6 people.

Wedding Weekend

Wik hosted our micro-wedding weekend event at his lovely horse farm and log home estate. The property is beautiful and serene and was the perfect spot for our intimate family retreat. The log home is immaculate and well appointed. We enjoyed fishing, yard games and relaxing on the porch, followed by s'mores on the bonfire by the pond. Can't say enough about how much we enjoyed it!

A beautiful spot for a getaway

We had a great girls’ weekend at this beautiful cabin in Somerset, VA. It was the perfect retreat to relax and get away from the busyness of daily life. We took a drive into Gordonsville and visited Barboursville Vineyards as well. The cabin had the best of both worlds- an old feel with the reclaimed logs and all modern day amenities. The views from the porch cannot be beat. It was a great place to relax and unwind. Wik was a wonderful host too. Thanks again!

Perfect home, perfect location and exceptional host!

We had an absolutely wonderful time at this beautiful cabin. Everything about our stay was superb! From the moment we arrived Wik was a very attentive host and took the time to give us a tour of the cabin, a Kubota tour of the trails and amazing history on the cabin!! The cabin was a combination of historic charm and modern animeties! The views of this secluded and private cabin were breathtaking. We enjoyed the views of the ponds, horses and wildlife! Can’t leave out enjoying a few beers with the host in world! Thank you Wik for making our girl weekend memorable! We can’t wait to come back!

Romantic and Peaceful

Our stay has been nothing less than amazing. This cabin is so beautiful with all its charming details. The surroundings are breathtaking. The ponds, the friendly horses, and walking trails made it extra special. Wik is an excellent host and makes sure everything has been taking care of. The beds are super comfy, showers and sauna look new, and the overall rustic vibe makes you feel at home from the moment you walk through the door. We will definitely return one day.

Awesome stay

Couldn’t have been better. The property is gorgeous and having the ponds to fish was awesome. My husband and brother-in-law caught a lot of fish and had a great time. It was also really cool waking up every morning and seeing the horses that are on the property. So much wildlife and so quiet. Absolutely beautiful. Cabin was super clean and super spacious. The host couldn’t have been more accommodating. We would definitely go back. Don’t hesitate to stay here.

Super Cabin for Superbowl Weekend!!!

Our stay at this wonderful oasis was a trip to remember. The cabin was way more than we even imagined with the scenic views over the trout ponds and rolling hills. Horses Copper and Spatz were so nice to have as vacation pets right next to the cabin. The cabin was so nice and spacious giving us that feeling of home. Absolutely Perfect!

We had an absolutely wonderful time staying at this cabin. It perfectly blends the charm of a rustic retreat with all the modern comforts, surrounded by breathtaking, postcard-worthy views. Although we initially planned to visit a nearby winery, we ultimately chose to stay and explore the scenic trails—and we’re so glad we did. Wik, the owner, is an exceptional host who made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. He was always available and quick to respond whenever we needed anything. We loved grilling by the pond, wandering the beautiful property, visiting the horses, and relaxing on the porch in the cozy rocking chairs. We spent our evenings reading by the fire in the stone fireplace and enjoying uninterrupted quality time together as a family. We can’t wait to return for another unforgettable stay!

Quiet secluded cabin and property

Cabin is within an hour drive to almost any attractions you want to visit. It’s set up very well for guests. We did not need anything that was not supplied while on site. The basement floor is concrete and if you do not wear shoes inside might want to bring something to wear cause it can be cold. Wik, the on-site host, was fantastic and very accommodating and always available. There are trails on the site and when we stay again would spend more time on porch and property just relaxing. Quiet Country House

We spent several days here for our son's wedding in nearby Ruckersville. We have stayed at a number of VRBO properties but this one stood out for communication with and actually meeting the owner of the property. Wik Dove met us and escorted down to their wonderful home next to a pond on their country estate. Daily he saw us go by, he would wave, and text us to find out if we needed anything. He even remembered the day of our son's wedding and wished us all the best. The home is very quiet with a nice view of rolling hills and countryside from the porch. It is nicely equipped and comfortable with additional air conditioning for the top floor. Many thanks to Wik and Anna for hosting us!

Charming cabin in a gorgeous setting

The cabin was beautifully decorated and had every amenity imaginable. The sauna and the fishing pier were a huge hit with our family. We relaxed in the covered porch drinking our coffee in the mornings and hiked in the nearby trails; A perfect family stay. We will be back!
