Very friendly staff. Unique accommodations (decor, furnishings, rooms, etc). Very fun place to stay! Breakfast was good and simple. Enough to stay full but not a heavy meal in the morning. Premium location in the old city. Can walk everywhere you’d want. One bit of info, some rooms don’t have private bathrooms.

This hotel was very unique and chic, with lots of music inspired decor. The checkin was very smooth and staff were friendly! There are four floors and the stairs are steep, which is our only caution. Would stay again!

Stayed at Backstage sept 14-19. Room was compact, bed was comfortable (pillow, not so much). Room and shared washrooms/shower cleaned regularly. Central location to walk to museums, Vondelpark, Anne Frank museum etc. The only downsides were the street noise level in the late evening hours with revellers, construction next door early morning (clearly beyond hotels control)and interior noise level from guests using hallway and stairs and letting doors slam shut.

I was unaware based on the Expedia add that my room had a shared bathroom. However, the facilities were kept very clean. This hotel is close to all the amenities you would want to see. You are right on a canal and the neighborhood is quiet and safe. The only issue to note are the stairs are extremely steep going upstairs and downstairs. Although we were told this is most hotels. Would recommend this hotel also for its unique charm.

Location was convenient pretty much to everything in central Amsterdam, by walk or by tram. Room was tiny but exceptionally clean amd cozy. Stairs are steep. I asked for assistance with my luggage on my way downstairs. Thanks for that ;) There were some issues in the shared bathroom but staff helped immediately. Overall I would stay here again.

Super cool hotel with music themed rooms! Be aware that you are going to have to go up several staircases that are very narrow and awkward, so it’s not a good place for someone that has any sort of impairment, but the staff was absolutely fabulous and it was close to everything and nice to be right next to the canals.

Our room and bathroom were very clean and the twin beds very comfortable. It was very hot when we visited so we were grateful for the blackout curtains and large fan! Breakfast was a highlight, absolutely delicious, lots of choice, even for vegetarian and gluten free options, and we enjoyed sitting watching the bicycle “rush hour” going past the window every morning! Staff were so friendly and helpful, and happy to give me ideas for things to do. We really loved our stay in this quirky, unique hotel, thank you!

A fabulous, unique hotel. We had a great nights sleep. Decoration is quirky but really makes it. We had the 4 bed room, plenty of space. We were grateful for the fans as we stayed in the recent heat wave! Mo was very friendly and helpful!
