"TV not working dirty room "

"Beware: they require an additional $20 for parking. There is no on-site restaurant and the front desk never mentioned a Bunz Burger Joint so I don't know what restaurant their ad is talking about. Other than that the room was adequate."

"Don’t believe the pictures online. Our first room had a puddle of brown water in front of the mini fridge so we were moved to another one. This room was worse. The mini fridge didn’t work, the sink in the bathroom clogged after washing our hands, the sliding door to the bathroom needed to be pushed open with two hands because it wouldn’t glide, there was mold in the shower, and everything was just old. Also, the pool is not nearly as big or nice as it looked in pictures. We only had breakfast at the hotel once and it was fine. "

"We went to visit San diego, our stay was 3days 2 nights, checked in at 3pm. Got the wrong room, cards keys weren't reading the door had to go twice, when opened our room, room wasn't the one we reserved, smelled so bad. Like old, superd old! Went back to front desk, immediately they changed us to a different room, room wasn't ready. We had to wait outside the room for housekeeping ladies! Room was ready in 30 min, went inside smelled the same, furniture tvs were dusty with tabacco on the side, that was Saturday march 21st, sunday, we left to SeaWorld, we came back rooms weren't clean, beds weren't made again, we put dirty towels on the floor to get new and clean ones, well we came back to the rooms the same, we had to go to front desk to get clean towels! Shower drain wasn't working! Water was stuck in the bathtub! Im not a person to rate places but this time, it really was a deception moment!! Floor carpet super dirty and stains! Its a really nice from outside, but from inside definitely needs a remodel!!"

"Not your average "Motel". Our room was super clean, (Maybe the most important element of any stay).The room was exactly as expected, relatively small and not a lot of frills. But...the ownership went well beyond any other motel I've been to by making sure that there was good bedding, adequate pillows and blankets, nice size TV along with access to plenty of channels, plenty of toiletries and good water pressure in the shower. Additionally, the room has some nice finishing touches such as Crown Moldings and high quality wood shutters. The few "less than great" comments I can make would be that the AC is a bit noisy on startup, (but pumps cold air out like a champ), and because it's close to the street, you will get some ambient street noise, (not overwhelming). The area that the property sits at is in a very up and coming part of San Diego. Lots of food choices within walking distance and a short Uber to Downtown, Little Italy, The Gaslamp, Balboa Park, Old Town or the waterfront (to name a few). I am pro level traveler and I give this property a BIG THUMBS UP. If your looking for a good place to base your San Diego Adventure from, this place checks all the boxes. If your looking for a resort property or intend to hang out at the hotel all day, I suggest upgrading your budget and book appropriately. I for one like to be out exploring and taking in the city and culture. I will definitely stay at the Berkshire Motor Hotel again. My wife was happy with the property as well."

"The staff was stellar. It was extremely peaceful and quiet. We greatly appreciated our room. Unfortunately, the hygiene was sorely disappointing. I have a suppressed immune system and heart damage, high-level of hygiene is paramount to avoid infections. 1. On one of the pillows was a long wig hair, possibly the linen was not changed from the previous guests. 2. The carpet was extremely dirty and the smell was equally bad. 3. The AC vent has visible black build up. 4. Strong urine scent in the bathroom, with visible mold growth in the shower. 5. Pillows needed washing. 6. Chair was extremely dirty. I cleaned it. Fortunately, for the odors I ordered an air purifier to help mitigate contracting any airborne illness. Additionally, I purchased bedding to promote safer rest. Overall, the property is lovely, staff are warm and friendly and I will return. "
