"Lovely small hotel in Monpazier. Staff were outstanding in every respect. Food in the restaurant was very good although the menu was limited for a stay of more than a few days."

" un couple avec un enfant
Très bien au niveau espace et emplacement
Qualité et prix en adéquation
Bémol sur la propriété car se sont les loueurs qui font le ménage !
Faire plus attention lors de la sortie!

The hidden gem of Dordogne! I’m not sure where to start - the incredible hospitality, the beautiful surroundings, or the fantastic accommodations. Breakfast was sumptuous - Martine is quite the cook and many ingredients are sourced from the grounds. Whether you want to stay for a couple of nights or a week or more, there is plenty to see and do, and then you can go back and enjoy the comfort of Domaine du Pouzelaine.

Beautiful setting, impeccably designed room and bath with no comfort detail lacking. Bucolic scene from the swimming pool adds to the overall relaxing atmosphere as one’s access to the owners’ library. Food was delicious. I can not recommend more highly.

If I could give more than five stars, I would.
Château Hôtel Edward 1er is, without question, one of the finest places we’ve ever stayed. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and exceptional hospitality. The staff made us feel at home from the very first minute.

An authentic French countryside experience. Not the Ritz but incredibly comfortable and special. If you are okay with a few economies - older towels, for example - you will enjoy your stay. The property is beautiful and special, the staff could not be kinder, the food in the restaurant is traditional French-chic, the breakfast is massive. I would go back in a minute. We had a great visit. Our hosts gave us info for visits to Bergerac and Cadillac which were so much more interesting than St Emilion which is so touristy. We loved our wine tasting and they were willing to discuss all aspects of their vineyard operations.

The team at Chateau Bonalgue went above and beyond to make us feel at home.
Special thanks to Anton for giving us a tour of the property and for answering all our questions on the wine making process. It’s really fascinating !
Our room was quaint and cosy. And it was nice to have access to the large and modern living room 24/7.
My husband and I highly recommend a stay at Chateau Bonalgue to anyone looking for an experience less impersonal than a hotel reservation.

Our stay was unforgettable. Olivier and Nathalie are wonderful hosts of a very beautiful hotel with tastefully decorated, comfortable rooms. The dinners (table d'hôtes) were phenomenal with excellent wine pairings from the region. We also very much appreciated the recommendations on things to do in the vicinity and which scenic roads to take. We felt like we stayed with family.
It was so peaceful and restful that we can't wait to go back and stay longer. Very highly recommended!
