"Only one place I could stay in this south suburb of Matsue, which is closer to my destination of visit. It's cheap so no fridge, no microwave, which made a little difficult for my 5 night stay."

Don't be misled by the "hostel" designation of this guest house - it is really a boutique, luxury residence in the heart of Daikon Island. First and foremost, the guesthouse owner, who speaks very good English, was very kind and drove me around the whole day. "The rooms were comfortable. Showers and bathrooms were easy and nice, and breakfast was next door at the restaurant."

"It is an older Buddhist temple and feels wonderful to be in a place with such character and history. The meals (all are vegetarian in accordance with Buddhist tradition) are a delicious delight. This is from one who is not a vegetarian! The service is personal and sincerely caring. I would recommend visiting Daisen and staying there. "
