"This was a very nice place to stay in Miyanoura. The breakfast and dinner service was unexpected. Both were interesting and satisfying. The steam bath was excellent after a day of hiking. The staff here were very nice and helpful."
"Amazing cottage set in a beautiful location with views of the surrounding mountains and forests that reminded us of Hawaii. The property features an outdoor onsen, a well equipped kitchen and is comfortably furnished throughout. Hana Mana is the perfect getaway for a couple or family visiting Yakushima."
"Everything about our stay was amazing. Sankara was easily one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in around the world. They made our honeymoon incredibly special. "

"An amazing service, reception are super helpful, rooms are luxurious, modern and ultimately clean. Great poo, great spa, dinner at the Michelin restaurant was fantastic. "
"The best experience I’ve had at a hotel in Japan. I have a halal diet and the staff were able to cater for this in the half-board meals provided. The staff in the cafeteria were great and I felt like I had a lovely experience being fussed over (they treated everyone kindly). The front desk staff were great and spoke good English. There is a free shuttle service to the airport but you have to let them know in advance when your flight is (if you’re arriving, notify them by email as they don’t respond to messages made through hotels.com). The hotel is also next to an important bus stop that takes you direct to Shiratani Unsuiko and also takes you to the place you have to make a transfer for Yakusugi land. I also loved my tatami room which had a spacious bathroom. "
