Guest Access: Wordsworth is our fabulous basement apartment in the traditional Lakeland stone Fair Rigg building - your own door is accessed from the front of the property with a lock box and self checkin.
The Neighborhood: Nestled in the picturesque heart of the Lake District, Fair Rigg offers a perfect blend of peace, beauty, and convenience. Just a short walk or drive away is the serene lakeside, where calm waters and lakeshore walks invite you to unwind. The iconic ferry point lets you cross over to the lively side of Windermere and explore the cafes, boutique shops, bars, and restaurants of Bowness.
For nature lovers, you’re surrounded by classic Lakeland scenery — rolling fells, woodland paths, and panoramic views that change with the light. Villages like Sawrey and Hawkshead are close by, with charming tea rooms, quaint pubs, and the famous Hill Top (Beatrix Potter’s home) not far off.
Despite the rural feel, essential amenities aren’t far — village stores, local pubs, and markets are within easy reach. And for those who like to be active, there are walking, boating, and other outdoor adventures from your doorstep.
Getting Around: Your apartment comes with a driveway for two. If you're using public transport then Windermere is the nearest station and there is a taxi rank just outside. We're a ten min walk from the nearest bus stop - full details are in our electronic guest book which is shared after booking.
Interaction with Guests: We're not on site, but we are on the end of a phone; and we have a really extensive digital guest book which should answer all your questions.
