The place was very homey, spacious and very peaceful.
The dogs were well provided for and loved the accessible fields. Loved the cosy fire and plenty of amenities within the house. We all had a fantastic stay.

The house was amazing. Very spacious and clean. Location was great for a quiet time away but also not far away from the city. The host was very helpful and understanding.

A Relaxing Countryside Retreat – A True Home Away from Home Our stay at Quarry Lodge Cottage in Rosl
The hosts have truly thought of everything you could possibly need, making it feel like a home away from home. The cottage is incredibly well equipped, offering a perfect balance of comfort and practicality, making it ideal for families, couples, and groups of friends alike. One of the highlights of our trip was exploring the surrounding countryside. On a nearby walk along the river, we were lucky enough to spot roe deer, which made the experience even more special. We walked the river routes many times, and barely saw a soul, so peaceful. Dalston Village is also well worth a visit. We enjoyed sitting on the village green for lunch before taking a scenic walk through the park to the beautiful river. Quarry Lodge Cottage is family- and dog-friendly, providing dog beds and dog blankets, an area to hose your dogs down. Loved it so much we extended our stay

It was perfect.
The whatthreewords really helped us to make sure we were arriving at the right place but even without it the postcode took us to the bottom of the lane where there was a sign for Quarry Lodge. We were staying for a midweek wedding at Dalston Hall which was really close and had no issues getting a taxi. there was plenty of plates and cooking quipment which was great as we had a four night stay and wanted to cook some family meals at home. There was plenty of space for everyone to have there own space and then a large enought space for us to all eat and enjoy eachothers company. My partner was having to work whilst we were away and had sufficient wifi connection to do this. Lovely walks nearby, even in the wind and rain we managed to get out and have a lovely walk along the river.

We booked Quarry Lodge for some peace and quiet around bonfire night and it certainly delivered.
Our little dog was calm all week. It was bliss. It's pitch black at night so amazing views of the night sky too. The house is quite remote but only a 10 minute car ride to wigtonthe lovely village of Dalston. Personally, I love remote but might not suit everyone. Huge garden at the front and a very handy, secure enclosure at the back. The living room is gorgeous but we didn't use it since we loved the kitchen area so much with its open plan set up and bright sitting area. My elderly parents enjoyed watching the birds on the feeding station and other wildlife. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would most definitely returnrecommend. Thank you.
