We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful room with an amazing sea view. The room was comfortable, spotless, and the scenery made our trip even more special. A special thank you to Maxine, who was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Her warm, friendly, and fun personality made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble, and her positive attitude truly enhanced our short getaway. We would highly recommend this place and would love to return in the future.

Highly recommended, is welcoming, clean and the bed very comfortable. Very attentive staff. Love the view of the Harbour from the room and the decor. Near restaurants, the beach. Definitely worth the trip and will come back.

We loved Maxine's quirky property filled with nautical memorabilia. Our room, which looked over the harbour, had everything we needed and the bed was really comfortable. We opted for the full English breakfast which was lovely.

Pleasurable stay

Hostess Maxine was very welcoming, open, honest and very friendly. Harbour view from our clean, cosy and comfortable room was amazing. The bed was so comfy too. The Ocean has it's own character with themed but subtle rooms. The bar is an honesty bar. All in all was a fab stay.

The guest house was well-located and very clean. We had Room 5 which was on the second floor with a sea view - the only downside was that it was quite noisy until late at night with traffic/music. We'd probably opt for a rear-facing room next time, which over-looked the harbour. The room had everything we needed, although a fan would have been useful as it was very hot when we stayed. Breakfast was good quality and tasty, but the only option seemed to be a cooked breakfast - no cereals, fruit etc., and we weren't offered toast - as the last guests in it looked as though things were being cleared away so we didn't like to ask. We were unsure of the parking situation on arrival so paid to park in a nearby street for a couple of hours - on checking in we were given a parking pass that enabled us to park in any 'Zone F' area. Overall a very enjoyable experience, Maxine was very down to earth and welcoming.

Awesome stay

Fantastic stay, Maxine is a star, amazing host and full of smiles and chat! Our room (5) was amazing, had everything in it you could possibly need, bed is the best I’ve slept in and the breakfast was 1st class full English. Highly recommended and just wish we were staying longer! Thanks Max x

The best place to stay in Weymouth

The property is tastefully decorated in great condition and extremely clean and tidy. We street parked during our stay with no issues with a parking pass from our amazing host Maxine. Our stay wouldn’t have been the same without her , went above and beyond to make our experience of Weymouth the best it could be starting the day with a delicious breakfast and the go too’s and must sees of what the area had to offer. Booking anywhere else would be a waste of money… this is the place it Stands proud and above anywhere else, we are so glad we booked We’ll be back.

We stayed 1 night to attend an event at Weymouth Pavilion so the Ocean was in the perfect location just a 2 minute walk away. Lovely welcome by Lyn and the room was clean and cozy with a view of the beach. The bed was very comfy and the newly refurbished bathroom was good. Breakfast was excellent freshly cooked and ample portions, plenty of cereals, toast, fresh fruit, yogurts etc. A nice touch was the homemade cake in the lounge which you could help yourself to...thank you Lyn. Overall lovely stay and would use again.

I had a great short stay, our host and staff were lovely, I was made to feel very welcome on arrival and was given just the right amount of information about my stay, which did come in useful. My room was a good size, very very clean and tidy, I had a great view of the harbour and was very happy with my choice. I will look forward to staying again when I go back to Weymouth. I will not run the risk of trying somewhere else and being disappointed , which I think, I would be as the standard was set very at the Ocean. WELL DONE THE OCEAN Thank you.

Had a lovely room with sea view and king size bed. Great little extras like a pair of binoculars on the window sill to explore the view. Couple of easy chairs in the bay window with coffee table. A real pleasure to sit there in the sun! One word of warning, if you are infirm or not able to carry your own cases easily up the property stairs this venue is probably not the right choice for you as there is no lift (it’s a listed building). Maxine our host was lovely and my wife and I highly recommend the Ocean Guest House!

Owner initially could not find my reservation. My brother and I were very exhausted from walking the coast path for 13 miles that day and wanted to get to our room and clean up and rest. Owner seemed in a hurry and not organized. Not very hospitable and friendly.

Very unique guesthouse, host was lovely and made you feel very welcome. Every room was different, we had a peek in room 5 which was very elegant with a beautiful bay window. Our room was room 8, top floor. A lot to look at in the room. Seemed to be history based. Breakfast was amazing. The only biggie was that the water pressure in the shower was non existent, it wasn’t worth even trying to use it. We spoke with staff who said that it was because it was top floor, which didn’t really seem plausible when the toilet and taps were all normal. I would definitely stay again but maybe a different room

Lovely and cozy stay! It’s easy walking distance to the beach, the pier, and restaurants. The manager wasn’t in when we went last minute and the staff was alarmed that we were able to make a reservation. They were still able to accept our reservation and made it a pleasant stay (esp because it was one night). The rooms were well decorated and bed was comfortable. They have some toiletries if you’ve forgotten yours. If you have a car, you can ask for a parking permit to avoid paying the public parking fee. BOOK THE HARBOR VIEW! Ocean view is nice but you can see a sliver of the ocean and because it’s the street, it can be noisier. Overall, this place made me nostalgic of my childhood beach holidays with my parents. It’s a great stay and we hope to be back!

This property is full of character and interest. There is a lounge with an honesty bar, also a small fridge with bottles of real milk that you can help yourself to. Outside there is a terrace where you can sit and enjoy the sun and watch the harbour side activity. Our room wasn’t large but had all you needed for a comfortable stay, although I would have liked a small hand towel. There were some characterful shelves and cupboards where the crockery, teas and coffees etc were housed. The bed was extremely comfortable. There was space downstairs where I could leave my rollator, which was as well as there wasn’t really enough space in the room for it. Breakfast was a very personal affair with two lovely staff members who attended to our needs. The breakfast order was taken the day before, which isn’t my preference. The owners are very friendly and obliging. The property is perfectly placed if you are visiting the Weymouth Food Festival, which we were. I would definitely like to stay here again.

Good area very central. Room dark and the room over crowded with furniture and mirror, squeaky bed, shower poor and didn’t get hot even after leaving it for 10 minutes. Breakfast was good.

A very friendly owner. The rooms are very clean and uniquely decorated. The mattresses are very comfortable. The views from the windows are wonderful, especially of the marina. The location is excellent—just a few steps from the beach.
