This has to be one of the best cabins to stay in in the mountains of Virginia. This is the second time my family and I have stayed here and we absolutely love it. The owners are wonderful people. You wil not be disappointed staying here.
Love the cabin. It was our 6th year coming this time of year. Usually the cabin is stocked with toilet paper and firewood but this year we ran out and had to go to the mountain store. The first year we came there was a Christmas tree in the loft but they don’t put one up anymore. The pig that comes to visit did not disappoint. My grands love the pig! We didn’t see any other animals like in the past. It’s still our fave place to come spend quality time together as a family.
This is a quiet retreat with lovely views and access to good hiking trails in George Washington National Forest. Stanton is a close drive for groceries and small shops for gifts and such
The cabin was clean and well maintained. The property was beautiful with plenty to do. We enjoyed family time around the little lake fishing and walking and using the little row boats available. The views were gorgeous! A peaceful and amazing place to stay!
Amazing family getaway. Peaceful weekend with so many great family activities. We loved feeding the pig some carrots and waking up to the beautiful sunrise over the mountains.
Thank you. We hope to come again.
Another great year .. my gift for my kids is time away at the cabin spending quality time. This was our 5th year .. same role of year every year. Love it !
Our family stayed at this cabin for the weekend. It’s nestled on a beautiful piece of property with views of the mountains, a small lake and animals- farm and wild! The cabin was spacious. Our kids loved the basement with games. The bedrooms fit us well. Only complaint in the bedrooms were squeaky beds; otherwise, very clean! We ventured to nearby hikes and towns. Thank you and we hope to return soon!
Loved our weekend stay at this home and hope to return next year! Plus we referred our adult children to this home if they are in need of a weekend getaway!
This was our 4th annual cabin trip to Charlie’s guest cabin. We enjoyed our stay just like every year. Looking forward to next year.

Everything was perfect and exactly as described!
Truly a magical place ran by quality people! We were pleased with every aspect of our experience and count ourselves immensely blessed and privileged to have spent time here.
This was the perfect out-of-town trip. The location is very serene and the property is beautiful. Our cabin was very clean and tastefully done. The owners, Luke and Leslie, were very personable and welcoming! We will definitely be staying here again in the future!
We had an amazing time at the guest house. The property is amazing-very private, beautiful, and the owners provide plenty of activities to do. The kids enjoyed the fishing and the kayaks and the pigs that came by to say hello! We still definitely recommend to family and friends. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
We absolutely loved our stay at the cabin....our daughter loved the pigs and made a new friend with Ferdinand the pig.....Luke and Leslie were both beyond welcoming and the cabin is in perfect location . Perfect quiet getaway.
Beautiful location and absolutely beautiful property! Quite with piggies to feed if wanted and 2 lambs walking around on the property. Stayed there for an event we signed up for but could of just stayed on the premises and never left!!
Owners very friendly and helpful!
We love coming here. I rent the cabin for myself and my daughter and her family for a Christmas gift. Instead of gifts I do and experience. This is our 3rd year coming. The kids love the pigs!! Only thing missing at this cabin is a hot tub lol

Peaceful
My husband and I had the most relaxing vacation. The scenery was so beautiful and our cabin was warm and inviting. We have already made vacation plans to come back. We did not miss the internet one bit. It's good to disconnect from this crazy world we live in.
Listing for property actually says under amenities:
"Available in the house: WiFi"
We contacted the owner while there and we were told there was no wifi at the property. We would not have stayed at this property had we known there was no wifi. As a matter of fact, we left a day early. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!!!
My family and I are from the DC area and wanted to spend a couple of days enjoying the Fall colors and mountains. This booking didn’t disappoint. The owners are amazing and the 900+ acres to enjoy were wonderful. The owners even delivered more firewood when we ran out after having a nice big fire the first night. They even stopped by to share some great info about where we could go see some great local sites.
We sat by the fire in the family room and watched a movie. We made a bonfire outside and played corn hole(which they provided). They even have folding chairs for guests. We canoed in their biggest lake and skipped rocks. We enjoyed their bison and pigs. We took pictures every where we turned.
The cabin awesome! It is a little dated but very clean and everything you need is provided. We made breakfast both mornings and dinner once without any issues. The beds were comfortable but the box spring squeaked a lot. You can hear when people are moving on them.
There is absolutely no cell phone service or WiFi which was scary at first but very enjoyable as me and my family unplugged for a couple days and actually enjoyed each other.
We would go back to this wonderful place and I’m sure my three daughters ages 16,14 and 8 won’t forget this memorable trip.
We are thinking of a spring time trip here!!
We had a great weekend at the cabin. Remote location, open floor plan and lots of ptroperty to wander about. The kids enjoyed canoeing on the pond and hitting golf balls on "the green."
Cabin was home base for our son's JMU graduation weekend. It was great for a casual family party after graduation. Screened porch and walk-out basement/recreation room were great for entertaining.
WOW! What a great weekend! 65 or 70 on Friday made for a great hike & evening outdoor fire, then woke up to about 3" of snow on Sat. morning. Cabin is nicely appointed, beds comfy, great fireplace inside with wood stacked & waiting for you. We were greeted by "Ferdinand" the pot belly pig and were fortunate enough to meet Luke while walking around the property. What an inviting couple :-) Morning especially picturesque with sun rising over the mountain, steam coming off of the pond, and a Momma cow & her two babies running across the field. Truly a wonderful place and we will definitely be back. Thank you so much for everything!
