"If you enjoy a relaxing atmosphere this a great place to stay. The rooms are good size and have gas fireplaces. It's located a short distance from numerous restaurants and has a number of areas for walking up on the bluff above the ocean. The staff at this boutique B&B are so nice it makes you want to come back. We've stayed at the Seal Cove Inn numerous times and any time we travel to Half Moon Bay this is our destination. We highly recommend this establishment."

"The location is the best! if you love the coast, but also want to go to SF and the Peninsula, this is your place. The host was so gracious and easy to communicate with. This place was perfect for our family."

"My preferred rating would have been 4.5 stars. The only issue was that they’re having some issues with their WiFi. If this is critical for you, ask for a room with the strongest signal. They assured me they are working on it which will involve a total overhaul so I expect sometime soon it will be a stellar experience to match the rest of the amenities. Let me just say that the listing here on Expedia undersold the Beach View Room!!! Not only did it have a refrigerator- which is at least twice the size of a typical Dorm size, it had a microwave, cook top, bar size sink, plates, cups, silverware, additional 55” TV over a wood burning fireplace, nightlight, and bathroom ventilation fan. The last may seem trivial but it isn’t. The furnishings are superior. Everything was comfortable to sit on. The seating area would easily accommodate 4-5 adults. The ocean view was spectacular whether seating inside or out. The direct beach access was awesome. I didn’t use the pool or hot tub but they were nice and clean. The room was clean and there is ample space for a long stay if you want to unpack from a closet with hangers, a dresser next to the bed and multiple drawers in the bathroom. The double vanity bathroom sink was nice for a his and hers experience! The bed was comfortable so my back says thanks. While there is no AC, the room came with a nice pedestal fan that my wife used to whole time. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast is filling."

"This home is in a perfect location and is generally well appointed. The lower level did not appear in any of the photos and felt disconnected from the rest of the home. If I had a family I’d feel uncomfortable having children downstairs.Overall, it was clean but it had an over powering smell of an older gentleman, that did not dissipate by opening up the windows and permeated the linens and bedding. "

"Our group of women have gone on over 80 trips together - so many houses. This house was one of our favorites. We loved the location. So easy to walk on the beach or the coastal trail. The bedrooms also fit us very well. It was a very comfortable stay."

"Negatives: The checkin information came the day of the stay and the check out information the day before; no welcome manual with how to use heat, whether there was AC, etc; microwave did not work and the door to the porch was broken; bedrooms were extremely small, barely enough room to walk around them; the layout of the place is awkward; no counter space to cook and no oven to cook in; the refrigerator was across the room; no containers for food prepared; no scissors; no beach blanket or chairs. There are two doors leading out to another entryway for the upstairs tenants. The doors have large windows (the ones you cannot see through) but the light coming in through the doors was bright, enough to light up the whole space, so that was annoying at night. If you are used to living an apartment you probably wouldn’t mind the noise from the upstairs neighbors. I found that the neighbors upstairs were loud, dog barking, baby crying and I could hear every footstep. Positives: The location was the saving grace. Without that, we would have left. You can walk to the coastal trail, numerous beaches and places to eat. The half moon Bay Area is adorable, very friendly, and laid back. They provided beach towels and linens. The host was great and responded immediately. A working microwave was provided the next day. "
