Five bedroom, three and a half bath, 4100 square foot home on just shy of five acres. The main floor has a kitchen, two living areas, laundry room, half bath and dining room. The dining room seats six people but there are several folding tables and chairs for larger groups of people. There is also a table in the kitchen that seats four. There is a full basement with a big living area that includes TV, couch and recliner. There is also a treadmill, rowing machine and sit-up bench. In another section of the basement there is a little kitchenette that includes a full refrigerator, cabinets, countertop, small deep freezer, microwave and coffee pot. There is also a bedroom and bathroom in the basement. The top floor has four bedrooms and two full bathrooms. There are also seven brand new, folding, rollaway, twin beds that can be placed where ever needed in the house. There is also a brand new pack and play with crib.
The house sits on a little under five acres. There is a water hole that we call our pond that is a couple of feet deep. Ducks and cranes like to stop by for visits throughout the summer. Please keep an eye on children while they are outside.We occasionally get moose on the property as well throughout the year.
The property is a short ten minute drive to town and shopping. It is approximately thirty minutes to Hatcher Pass and the historic Independence Mine. There are many hiking trails and in the winter there is sledding, skiing and snow machining (snow mobiling).
Matanuska Glacier is about an hours drive away and recreational Jim Creek is about a half an hour. Here you can go four wheeling or snow machining to Knik Glacier. The Reindeer Farm is also about a half hour drive away. Denali National Park is about a three hour drive north and Anchorage is approximately one hour away.
Note: there is an unattached shop with RV parking away from the house that the owners may be staying in during your visit. However, there will be no intrusion to the house during your stay. There is also one camera outside, that is above the garage, facing down the driveway. It does not face towards or inside of the house. Garage is NOT part of the rental.
