Large studio close to metro in Eckington/Shaw

This private Studio apt is located in the heart of DC, close to everything DC has to offer, we are short 7-10min walk to the metro station and a 5min walk to over 10 restaurants within the area. It's a great spot for someone who just wants to enjoy the city for a few days. The unit is very warm and cozy and has a great gem of an outdoor space for enjoying the sites and sounds of the city. There is only street parking, however, you can park on either side of the street without restriction. The unit has a half kitchen, no stove but has a microwave and toaster oven for use. It has one full bath with a shower. Just 4 blocks from the Shaw/Howard U. Metro, this modern English basement apt., with high ceilings is a walkable spot to a gourmet grocery store, bars, restaurants, the Convention Center, and Chinatown. The home has exposed brick, just 5 metro stops to the White House, the Mall, and museums. The Shaw neighborhood is vibrant, constantly changing, and full of diversity and young people. 15 mins to Washington Hospital Center, Howard University Hospital, Children's Hospital, and VA Hospital Center. A great value with an experienced & DC-licensed host! I try to say hello at least once during the visit. In general, I give guests privacy unless there is a question. SLEEPS A MAXIMUM OF 2 ADULTS. Please feel free to ask questions.

Great little place for a short stay!

For never had been to DC before, I have to say we hit the jackpot with this VRBO. Located perfectly out of the way of the hustle of the city but close enough to Uber or rent a car to enjoy what the city has to offer.

Great little place to stay

We enjoyed our stay. My daughter and I can just needed a place for the two of us on short notice and this fit the bill. Roydell made it all easy and we used the metro a lot. Appreciate the chance to stay!

Sweet place

We loved our stay here. It was close to the Metro and easy to navigate. The Google maps took us to the wrong side of street because there is NW and NE in the same street. The studio apartment was cute and perfect for two. The host was very responsive to questions. We both really liked the shower as it was large and roomy.

Perfect for our needs!

Enjoyed working with Roydell. He was very friendly and helpful. We were out seeing the museums and monuments every day, but it was great to come back to a nice, clean, and comfortable place to rest and relax before heading out for the next adventure! It wasn’t a 4-star hotel, but that’s not what it’s advertised as and you definitely are not paying 4-star rates. It was perfect for our needs!!

Wonderful host

The apartment was perfect for our needs which was basically a home base for me and my teen daughter. The kitchen space is tight but we made breakfast and dinner each day (no stove but toaster oven was fine for us). Parking on the street was not a problem, even with switching sides for street sweeping. Plenty of space in front of the unit. Roydell was the perfect host-available, kind, and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

This was a great location and affordable for sight-seeing in DC. The host Roydell was very warm, welcoming and helpful. Very clean and well designed space. My only caution to travelers is to be aware that the deposit and fees will be charged to your credit card right away. (Some property companies charge the deposit upon arrival, so that's what I expected.) Aside from that, a great experience!

Cozy suite in DC

The location and accomodation provided everything we needed while visiting and exploring DC. The metro was 4 short blocks away. The basement unit was kept at a cool temperature to help beat the heat of walking around all day. The unit was very clean and well supplied with towels, shampoo etc. Only suggestion would be to tidy up the patio, as it was one of the reasons we were drawn to this listing but it wasn't as inviting as shown. Roydell has a green thumb and the outdoor plants are beautiful!!

First time in DC

I brought two energetic daughters to DC, and this suite was perfect for the three of us. Roydell had everything ready when we arrived - including extra snacks, coffee & tea makings, etc. You can tell he has done this before. The suite was clean and comfortable, a nice place to crash after busy days seeing the sights. The suite provides options for travel. We drove our vehicle, but there is a subway station nearby. An all-day guided tour was very informative and helped us solidify our plans for things to see and do. Then we bounced between the national mall area and the suite for the rest of our time in DC. It was great to have “tourist time” and then stop by a neighborhood grocery store on the way back for normal routines and food. Roydell is a great host - we’ll be back! Highly recommended!

Great DC stay

We had a nice time in DC and this was a good place to stay. When we arrived, the property owner came down to greet us and give a quick tour of the property. He was very helpful in giving us tips about the city and great places to eat. He had snacks and water ready for us as well, which was a nice touch. Our only complaint was that the floor and rug around the bed area felt a little grubby and our feet were gross after walking around a bit, but other than that, the bathroom was very clean, as well as the bed sheets and kitchen area. It was a pretty good walk down to the metro station. There are a couple of rentable bike stations very close by the property, and another at the metro, so it was easy to get back and forth as long as there were bikes available and empty spots to dock the bikes once we were done. The area felt safe to walk around in. Great home base since we didn't have a car. Easy to get down to the National Mall via the metro. Check in and out were very easy.

Fabulous stay in family friendly DC neighborhood!

Our stay at Roydell's property in DC as first time VRBO renters was absolutely great! Highly, highly recommend. We stayed for 3 nights and it was perfect for us. Roydell, our host, was always a short message away and very responsive with any questions we had leading up to our arrival, during our stay, and as we prepared to check out. He greeted us with a friendly hello when we arrived on our first evening, after a long travel day. The apartment was well furnished, and exactly as described in his listing, with a perfect amount of amenities (bathroom essentials, fridge, microwave, toaster oven, Keurig coffee maker), internet access, TV, etc. He had cold water in the fridge complimentary for us which was so very welcome in the DC July heat and humidity. This place is a short walk to the Shaw-Howard Metro station which we used extensively during our stay to visit the sites of DC and Arlington. We will definitely plan to stay here again if/when we venture back to DC in future. Thanks Roydell for your hospitality!

This is a comfortable, well appointed, spacious studio with a small kitchen. Roydell included snacks, a selection of teas, and coffee. It was impeccably clean. He was charming and very helpful in giving walking directions. The neighborhood is good; people I encountered were friendly. I will return!!

Best VRBO Experience Ever!

This Studio is absolutely perfect for two people. It is furnished beautifully without being overdone and has everything you could possibly need. We were even provided bottled water and a basket of snacks. The linens were fresh and of great quality. The location for our event (wedding reception at Big Bear Cafe) was perfect. Roydell was a dream host, so welcoming and kind. The rate is very reasonable for the area, plus there is on-street parking. Wow! I highly recommend Roydell and this Studio!

A Perfect Place to Stay

The Studio is a perfect place to stay. It's central location in a nice, quiet and safe neighborhood makes it the perfect hub for exploring Washington. The Convention Center is a 20 minute walk and on the way you pass by a GIANT supermarket where you will get everything. The host is very supportive and caring. The studio is quite modern, the shower excellent. I definitely offers great value for monkey!
