Checking in for really hard. I was late for the check-in for which I was charged $20 in cash. There was no mention of anything like late fee of $20 in the booking. I didn’t had cash so I had to wait for a long time and walk around with person helping me check-in before I enter at the midnight. The neighborhood was really really loud throughout the night and also did not feel safe. There was no temperature control in the humidity of Venice which made it really difficult to sleep well. Could not open window for some relief from humidity beacuse it was really loud outside. I could hear people shouting/fighting. We were given wrong room which was much smaller and not very clean. There were no stuff in bathroom to use or if it was there, it was really bad. Terrible experience
This is not a hotel. When you call it a hotel, it's not a hotel. They acted as if we were forced to visit their homes, not as if we had paid a fee to stay here. We stayed in a different room the first night, the next day they gave a different room saying this room is not good. I couldn't understand why. If the room is not good, why were we placed there in the first place? There was a strange smell in the house. The bathrooms were not clean. I stated it was not clean but they did not clean it. After we left the hotel, the owner sent a voice recording of us stealing food from the cupboard. I don't understand how a business can blame their guests like that. Their behavior was generally disturbing. I chose the hotel because it is highly rated, but I did not find what I expected. The nightly city tax was different from what I saw when booking the hotel. The location of the hotel was also not good. On the way back from the island to the hotel, strange types disturbed us on the street.

Liked: Staff & service, room comfort
Disliked: Cleanliness
The place is 20 min walking from central railway station and like 1 min close to some nice cafes, fresh market and Coop. The owner was helpful and fixed some problem with internet that I had. Unfortunately the cleanliness level is awful. In addition some guest was constantly smoking in the kitchen and nobody paid attention despite no smoking sign.
Actually it isn’t a hotel, but an apartment with 3 bedrooms and one bathroom. The bathroom was clean, but the bedroom has some dusty. It’s close to public transport (tram and bus stop), and about 15 minutes walk from Mestre rail station. There is no potable water and kitchen, just a fridge and a kettle. It’s a excellent value for the money.
