My most positive comment about this property is, it has great proximity to the village. But the unit is tired and needs a refresh, especially in the bathroom. The floor mat needs to be replaced and when I used a “fresh towel” for the first time, it had what I initially thought was blood on it. It was actually several streaks of what I’m guessing were rust stains. I can’t comment about how well the kitchen is outfitted because we never used it. The most aggravating experience was getting access instructions to the property. They never arrived so as we were driving up to Vail, I was scrambling to figure out how to get the information. With no contact number attached to my booking, I googled the hotel. The manager had no knowledge of us arriving and was inquiring whether I had received confirmation that the booking payment had been processed. When I confirmed payment had gone through, he said he needed to contact the individual who had taken the VRBO reservation, as she had left for the day and was leaving for an overseas trip, the next day. He said he would call right back. In his defence, he did later say that he had several people checking in which slowed his response to us. But it was frustrating since we were underway with no idea what was happening and whether there was actually going to be a place for us to stay when we arrived. I called 3X over a 40 minute period and he finally picked up and mentioned all the people checking in. He eventually tracked down the person who had done the booking and then we made arrangements to pick up the keys. After he and I hung up the phone, I then received the email with the check in instructions. What was irritating was that there were no sensitive check in access instructions that couldn’t have been sent upon confirmation of the booking. This unit is affiliated with a small hotel and standard hotel check in and check out instructions applied. It wasn’t as if we were waiting for a code for a lock box. The manager was waiting to give us the keys and we made our way to the unit. After unloading our car, we dashed out to eat. When we got back after 8:30 pm…there was no wifi information in the room. There is very little signal in the suite and it seems a bit silly that there isn’t something left in the room with the wifi password. Unfortunately, the front desk closes at 8:00 so we didn’t get wifi until it opened the next morning. Overall…not for us.
