This unique cottage is the only over-water holiday accommodation available on pristine Lake Tuross.

*THIS PROPERTY IS NOT FOR PEOPLE WITH POOR MOBILITY as it is a very unique Architectural Design with LOTS OF STAIRS AND DIFFERENT LEVELS.

This hidden gem is a great relaxing getaway. With its own private deck to fish, kayak and moor your boat for your whole stay.

The Views of the lake and Horse Island are unsurpassed! Sunset and Water viewed from All Directions of this Property!

You are also a Stones throw from 2 of the most popular Restaurants on the South Coast The Award Winning Tuross Boat Shed and The Pickled Octopus Seafood and Thai Restaurant. Just Amazing!!
The Red Box a 3 Bedroom Cottage includes two rooms with Queen Beds and 3rd with 1 single and 1 Double, providing comfortable sleeping for 4 adults plus 3 kids, this house is ideal for 2 or 3 couples or kids. The well-equipment all stainless kitchen with quality appliances is a joy to cook in and laundry facilities are provided. We also have a dishwasher for those who have better things to do than wash up! And a BBQ to enjoy cooking on your private deck over the water.
There is 1 only undercover car space and a public carpark to park boat trailers and extra vehicles etc.

This property is also a well-behaved ONLY Pet friendly place. 🐶
NO ANIMALS ARE TO BE ON THE CARPET AREAS OR LOUNGES, IF YOUR ANIMAL DOES DIRTY THESE AREAS, YOU WILL BE CHARGE EXTRA CLEANING COSTS!!
The property is fenced off but there is no lawn, but there is a beautiful park and walking path straight in front of the property where your animal can be taken. All we ask is that you clean up after your pet.

Great spot right on the water

I stayed here with my wife. It was much bigger than I expected and more modern than I expected.perfect if you love your fishing as you can fish off the back deck.the table on the deck actually has a bar code where you can order food from the restaurant next door and they will bring it to you 10/10

Deck over the water

This property is a real find. It is quirky, comfortable and so close to the water, the deck is actually over the water. If you like fishing or paddle boarding you are going to love it. Our little dog also loved it.

A Wonderful Three Days

Even though it rained we had the best time. The house was perfect for us-grandparents, parents and grandchildren. It has the feeling of being on a house boat with all the benefits of being on land. Of course having your Thai meal from the restaurant next door being handed over onto your deck was most convenient as well as being delicious.

Amazing location

A great place to have a short break. Right on the water, we swam off the deck and even caught a couple of little fish..the big ones are still out there.Everything you need is there. Even a great Thai restaurant right next door. We ordered takeaway and they delivered it over the fence. Perfect.

We very much enjoyed our family stay, beautiful area for walking, fishing and plenty of choice for eating out. The premises were well cleaned and well equipped. Nice sized rooms and comfortable beds. We will be back!

Fishing heaven!

Quirky layout with multiple levels, great back deck to fish from. Wonderful Thai restaurant and cafe next door. Quiet, great outlook over the water. Tuross is untouched by development, they do have a terrific club with very nice meals though. We spent many hours fishing and caught a lot of undersized fish but had a great time catching and releasing, some bigger ones also got a reprieve.

Making a stay here an annual get together.

Three couples in our late 60s who had a our first stay in 2023, just had three nights in 2024 and just booked for 2025. Love the quirky house, the over- water deck and its location. NB, as mentioned in the listing, if you have mobility issues not the place to stay as lots of stairs throughout the property.

A perfect long weekend away

Wow!! We had been wanting to stay at this house for many years as we have family in Tuross, we had very high expectations and we were not disappointed. From waking up overlooking the water, to sitting on the deck with a wine fishing with the family our four days were absolutley magic. We will definitely be back.

Fabulous views and comfy house.

Three couples and we had a great stay. Outdoor, over water verandah is lovely. House really well-equipped. Restaurant next door great as is the cafe next to that. Pub runs a courtesy bus and is a fun night. Loved it and all ready booked for next year.

Treasure Box

This place keeps on giving. The tranquillity of the lake, the sunsets, little nooks to find, the salmon and seals. Great pleasures of stillness and reflections. Oh and the house in a perfect spot. All that you will ever need in the house and plenty of hames for kids. We loved our stay and was sad to leave 😔

Location number One

My husband and I had the best stay in the Red Box. The location for fishing was perfect and with the Pickled Octopus, Jane's hairdressing and coffee shop next door we didn't have to travel far. Communication with the owners was excellent and instructions easy to follow. The cottage met all of our needs and I would certainly recommend a stay here if you are venturing to this wonderful part of the world.

Great weekend in unique property

Spent three nights for a winter escape. Great looking out over the lake from the house, and sitting out on the sunny deck (and throwing a line in). Spotted a seal swimming by :-) Having a good Thai restaurant and cafe right next door meant no need to cook (but the house well equipped if you do). Comfy house, with everything you need. Would book again.

Beautiful location and fantastic property!

My Family and I have been going to Red Box Cottage for many years. The Owners have made numerous renovations and additions that are stylish and practical to ensure a wonderful holiday. The property is always spotless and beautifully presented. We spend most of our time out on the back deck enjoying the water and enjoying the fishing. There is a great restaurant and cafe right next door. We always love coming back!

Fishing Week

Had a great family week away. Access down the front stairs was the only down side. On entry a hand rail on the left would make it easier when carrying luggage given the right rail is behind the open entry door. The added bonus of the grandsons being able to fish from the deck was brilliant.
