This was our second stay at Hotel Bakoua. The staff are very helpful indeed and the location cannot be bettered. The hotel is located on the beach with very good range of facilities, and very close to the ferry to Pointe du Bout.

Beachfront but Dated

The view was wonderful. The location near Creole Village restaurants, shops, and bars, super. Local beer and liquor store 100 yds. from front entrance. Front desk reception, cold and rather unhelpful. Beach was crowded on weekend days but beautiful and quiet during the week.

We had a four nights stay at Hotel Bakoua, and we loved the proximity to the ocean and the coconut bar where you could get drinks and food during the day while you were on the beach! Loungers and umbrellas on the beach were really nice and the beach was clean and not crowded. The hotel was a little old and needed some updates. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms and showers were nice although there was a drought and we didn’t have water one night! They gave us plenty of bottled water! Restaurants were nice and all the stuff were great! It was a great location close to the Creole village with lots of shopping and restaurants within five minutes walk of the hotel , the hotel was lit up really well at night and you felt safe walking with security all around. We would stay there again as it was very reasonably priced and we loved the beach. We had 12 friends staying there at the same time so we were a big group and they managed to seat us all together in the restaurant , and the food was pretty good. I would give the hotel an overall 3 to 4 star rating.

This "4 star" hotel might have been a four star hotel 10-15 years, but far from it right now... The room we got (no 12) was in a pretty poor condition. Paint falling off the walls, electricity not working correctly, no iron in the room, staff mildly interested in service, along with a number of other small details too many to mention all here. I would recommend another hotel for this kind of money.

This place is exceptional -- the location, the grounds, the views, the open-air lobby and dining areas, excellent breakfast buffet, the beach and pool. Even though the bathroom is somewhat dated and other areas could use some attention, the staff was helpful and friendly and I would give this resort one of the best ratings in The Caribbean (and I've been around)!

Amazing!

An Amazing find! Great room, ( quality sheets and towels) and helpful staff. Right on the beach and always a bed available. Good swimming and snorkeling - saw lots of different species of fish. A few minutes walk into the cute ‘village’ with great informal restaurants - you feel you’re in France with the food- AND a boulangerie!! Definitely would return!!

RUDE STAFF, BEYOND RUDE. If you are not fluent in french, all staff members will pretend not to understand you. This place had broken beds and rooms in a BEYOND aweful state. I should have trusted the reviews and saved my money. COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY that was spent on this hotel.

Les gouvernantes étaient très accommodantes, nous avons manqué de rien. La chambre et la salle de bain étaient toujours soigneusement nettoyées. La réception a répondu à toutes nos demandes. Le jardinier a gentiment soufflé les feuilles du terrain de tennis à notre demande. Toute l’équipe nous a servie avec courtoisie et sourire. Le site est agréable avec un très beau jardin et un magnifique paysage de la mer et Fort de France au loin. C’est aussi situé tout près village avec restos et petites boutiques. La plage est magnifique, très peu de vagues et l’eau est propre. Nous y retournerons avec les enfants.

L’accueil était très chaleureux. Les employés super gentil et prêt a aider. Jean-Michel à la reception était vraiment super. L’hotel est situé sur une superbe petite plage parfait pour la plongée en apné. Il y a beaucoup a voir. On avait une chambre sur le jardin, la vue était magnifique avec les palmiers et la mer au loin. La chambre était grande, tranquille, propre, lits très comfortable. Le service de chambre était tres bien et les bouteilles d’eau gratuite étaient très appréciés. La chambre avait un frigidaire, coffre fort et suffisament d’espace de rangement pour une famille de 4. L’hotel est très bien situé, café, resto shopping et marina à 5 mins de marche. Je recommande fortement cet hotel.
