Agnes and Bruno are wonderful hosts and are genuinely concerned that your stay in Tavira will be a pleasant one. My room was clean and spacious and was cheerfully decorated. The fact that there was no TV was actually a plus, as the news is always depressing. You have all the other comforts of home, since in the common area there is a refrigerator, a microwave and a hot pot for boiling water. An added bonus is a a rooftop terrace where you can lounge in the sun while gazing at the river. Finally, you are right across the street from the bus station. I truly enjoyed my sojourn in Tavira.

If you’re ok with a little street noise then....

Lovely place, very sweet and helpful owners. Convenient parking is a big plus. On the river so nice views and easy walk around. Only drawback is that if you’re on the street side, it is a little noisy. Not terrible but...

Cute hotel with helpful proprietors

The hotel is quiet, central right on the river with a rooftop terrace overlooking the river. The owners were very helpful to me, gave recommendations of restaurants and even let me check out a bit late so that I could shower after going to the beach. They were very helpful.

It was good, but here are some suggestions: It would help to have someone at reception; the soaps in small plastic tetrapacks that have to be torn open were frustrating; the colours could have been less loud--bright orange?

Perfect location on the river with beautiful views

Agnes was excellent with communication, and delightful when she welcomed us to the unique eco-friendly Al-Gharb. The room was spacious & spotless. We enjoyed a glass of wine (or two) on the rooftop terrace with lovely views of the Roman Bridge and riverside cafes. We would recommend Al-Gharb for it's location, reasonable price, comfort and ambience. Thank you, Agnes!
