We really wanted to love this place, but had some MAJOR hygiene issues throughout our stay. The cleanliness of the place upon arrival was abysmal. There were mouse droppings throughout the kitchen cupboards and over all the cutlery, crockery and drinking mugs. When we went to make up the bed, there was a significant amount of mouse poo under the pillows and on top of the mattress. Our toddler was woken frequently throughout the week as it was likely a mouse was running over her in her sleep. We had to set traps and every morning deal with what we found. Additionally, there were a number of other cleanliness issues (bats inside the house and inappropriate things left lying around by the previous guest) and we ended up having to throw out a large portion of our dry food due to these unhygienic conditions.We were very disappointed with the communication we received from the hosts and had to justify a number of times as to why we were upset. During the stay, they refunded less than 10% of the overall fee but did not compensate for our food losses.Had we not had these issues, it would have been a pleasant stay. The location is superb and the house functional - but this was a very disappointing and frustrating situation to have to deal with on our holiday.
