"Very friendly welcome and lovely spacious room. A thermos of fresh milk was ready for us every evening on the reception counter for tea/ coffee in our room the next morning. Breakfast was delicious with excellent selection of fruit, yoghurt, granola and choice of cooked breakfast. The location is excellent too. A short 10 minute walk and you're on the beach at Instow. Overall a very enjoyable and relaxing stay. "

"A lovely find hidden away off the main street. We only booked the room an hour before arriving but were made to feel very welcome by the young lady behind the bar. Breakfast was cooked by Phil and was delicious and he came out and had a lovely chat with us. I would highly recommend. "

"Nice property and good place to explore from"

"We stayed at Upper Instow Beach Cottage (actually a first floor apartment) for a week over Christmas. As it is a historic building it has some quirks but we quickly got used to its 'personality'. If it was any nearer the beach the sea would be lapping at the front door - and with two pubs and a restaurant within 2 minutes walk its a fantastic location. Everything we needed was provided. Furniture and bedding were comfortable and the kitchen was (despite its compact size) one of the best equipped we have come across in many years of renting holiday homes."

Every member of staff we met were warm and friendly and the cooked breakfast was superb. Appledore is such a lovely destination and a stay at the Royal George makes it all the more special. Seagate good for food.If you like fresh fish, go to the wet fish shop at Appledore Quay. Impressive range of fish and seafood. "
