We spent two nights here and had an outstanding experience. Big thanks to Augustin and his amazing staff. Communication was excellent and we had no issues during our stay. Easy walk to the beach. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend the omelette and avocado toast! Really enjoyed the live music as well. Thank you for memorable stay.

The team at Refugio was incredibly helpful and informative. We got help booking tours before we even got to the hotel. The hotel is very central, with easy access to the beach, shops, restaurants and clubs. The restaurant has a great menu. Highly recommend the cocktails!

The lodge is in a very walkable area and the staff was very friendly. I would recommend to anybody visiting Tamarindo. The atmosphere, especially at nighttime was great. We enjoyed the bar and live music.

Great property, they were very helpful and knowledgeable about surrounding places to see! Agustin helped us greatly when our shuttle out of Tamarindo canceled 5 hours before and managed to find an alternative for us! Overall, very easy to walk anywhere in town from Refugio. Expect some noise at night but they offer earplugs and truthfully it never was bad enough to need them

Divine accommodations in the center of Tamarindo!

Wonderful place in the center of town. Perfect location, and the staff was fantastic, super friendly and warm. The breakfast was amazing, and the coffee too. Totally recommended.

Our stay at Refugio was very romantic and pleasant. The front office manager, Augustin, did a very good job personalizing our experience to the best of his ability. He helped me pick out the perfect surf shop and beach location for waves and was exceptional being available for questions throughout our stay. The coffee their was fantastic and me and my girlfriend loved his food recommendations.

Great location in Tamarindo

This hotel is in a great location. The hotel features a bar, restaurant, and coffee bar where they roast the coffee beans in house. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food and drinks were excellent. We were within walking distance of the Tamarindo night life, shops, and beach. Highly recommended.

This place is perfect for a week long getaway! It can be a bit loud at night, but it was nothing that kept us awake at all. The pool was the perfect spot to take a cool dip after a hot day on the beach, and the staff were all the most friendly folks you can ask for. They made every effort to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of. The food at the lodge is also excellent, and we could have eaten it every night if we wanted. Definitely would recommend, and we hope to return soon!

Located in a prime spot, this place was clean, convenient with amazing staff. Augustin was very prompt with his communication and took great care of all o our needs! His staff is very helpful and the nearby bar is excellent for a night cap. Breakfast and on site cafe is excellent!

Great location, walking distance to everything. Very nice swimming pool, bar, restaurant and coffee shop. People were coming from all around to buy their coffee! Every one of the staff was very friendly and the recommendations for surf lessons and transportation was great pricing and people!

This is a sweet spot. Surrounded by good food, bars, shopping and close to the beach. Staff is awesome, the breakfast is delicious and so was the coffee, they roast it themselves which I thought is a cool touch. Even if you don’t get a room here it’s worth the visit to stop by and enjoy some breakfast or a drink and live music at night
