The room we were assigned to didn't meet our expectations so we asked if there was another room they can move us to and the answer was no. We were scheduled to stay for 4 nights and didn't feel we would be able to relax and enjoy our time. So we spent the first night looking for another hotel in the area and moved to it the next day. Also during the first night I had an accident and fell on the sidewalk near the hotel and Hotel MarRey didn't have any first aid available, told me to just wash my injured hand with soap and didn't seem to much care of the pain I was in.

Hotel is in the heart of Tamarindo. The grounds and the pool are amazing. The beds are 5 stars comfortable. We will back!!

Clean room. The pool area was lovely the photos don’t do it justice. Just steps from the beach and many restaurants. Also they had a small outdoor kitchen with pots and utensils you could use which I wish I had known about before hand as I would have brought more groceries. Our room had a fridge, microwave and coffee pot as well. Everything was clean and well taken care of. We loved it!

First issue, there was a security camera outside our room that we found directed towards our bathroom room window. It was located about 2 feet from the window and should have been facing anywhere but right into our bathroom. Very creepy. The street noise was very loud and the patio doors didn’t close all the way. I asked for help to operate the safe and was told I would have to wait until the next day for the manager. The next day, the same guy came to the room and showed me how to operate it. Not sure why he couldn’t have done this the first day. I just felt like he couldn’t be bothered. They provided a coffee machine, but no coffee. The positives were the pool was nice and beach was close

Location of this place was awesome. So close to everything, beach, restaurants, bars, etc. Gaby, one of the hosts was super helpful. We had some noise issues during the first night, as our room was very close to the major road. Upon bringing this to her attention, she arranged for us to move to another room the next day. Place was clean and the pool was an added bonus. Thanks Mar Ray team.

The shower kept leaking, bathroom floor would be soaked with water. We Informed the front staff, gentleman came in and used towels to soak up all the water, wasn’t repaired so everyday we had the same issues. Very, very, noisy, you hear everything going on outside. House keeping just enters your room before asking if services are needed. No “Do Not Disturb sign provided by Hotel. Not beach front. No option to have a massages on the beach, only pool side offered. Night time security sleeps while on the job, did not make me feel safe at all, multiple time we were able to go in and out of the hotel without him noticing due to him sleeping.

We picked this hotel do to the location, location was good and we were kind of in the middle of everything from the beach, shops, and nightlife. As others have stated the noise is pretty loud at night. Not so much the music from the clubs but from the noise of cars and motorcycles racing up and down to street on each side of the hotel. I do believe that if we visit again we would probably pay a little more and be beach front. This is a no frills hotel, very basic, no restaurant or bar. But it is clean and everyone there is very friendly and helpful.

The hotel has no sound barrier, it is located on two busy streets, so you can hear everything outside. Very difficult for sleeping. The bathroom shower doesn't drain well, so you are showering in a pool of water. There was very little room to put your things as there is no closet or shelve space. Some hooks on the walls in the room would have helped. We luggage/bags are just placed on the floor, while the room is already small. Conveniently located across the street from the beach. But I would trade to live 5 min walk away from the main street so I can sleep.

We especially felt safe, with friendly staff and felt like it was an oasis inside the city. Beautiful gardens and pool with a perfect location. Highly recommended. Cannot think of a single negative.

Das Zimmer ist sehr geräumig und toll ist der Balkon. Dieser ist kaum einsehbar und bietet damit gute Privatsphäre. Die Anlage an sich ist sehr sauber und Sicherheit wird groß geschrieben. Die Mitarbeitenden sind super freundlich und haben alles im Blick. Alles macht einen sehr schönen gemütlichen Eindruck, vom Pool über den BBQ Bereich bis hin zu den Pflanzen. Alles sehr schön und super zentral gelegen. Ich versteh die teilweisen kritischen Bemerkungen wegen der Lautstärke nicht. Wer zentral wohnen will, wird keine stille Oase bekommen. Das istbuberal auf der Welt so!
