A regular bus service takes you to Syracuse, one of the most historically significant cities in Sicily, with little effort. The Roman Amphitheater and the Archaeological Park of Neapoli are well worth seeing. If you want to refresh yourself after so much culture, pay a visit to the white sandy beach of Fontane Bianche; this is only 15 kilometers south of Syracuse.
