About this property
A Little Piece of Paradise – Waterfront Retreat - Cottage Point Sydney
The Haven Waterfront Cottage – A Hidden Waterfront Paradise in Cottage Point Where the bush meets the water, history meets luxury, and time seems to stand still.
Escape to The Haven Waterfront Cottage, a beautifully restored 1930s fisherman’s cottage nestled in a secluded bay in Cottage Point, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park.
One of Cottage Point’s original fishing cottages, The Haven has been lovingly restored over many years by its owners, Aredy and Phillip, who share a passion for preserving the charm and history of older buildings.
Today, this little piece of waterfront history offers a wonderful blend of character, comfort and natural beauty — the perfect setting for a romantic escape, special celebration or peaceful getaway with family or friends.
A Cottage Full of Character From the moment you arrive, you’ll discover what makes The Haven so special.
Original features, including charming pressed-metal ceilings, reflect the cottage’s heritage, while carefully chosen furnishings and modern comforts create a welcoming place to relax and unwind.
The open-plan living, dining and kitchen area offers a comfortable space to gather, with a beautiful open fireplace for cooler evenings and air conditioning for year-round comfort.
A delightful sunroom provides another peaceful place to sit with a book, enjoy your morning coffee or simply admire the surrounding bushland.
Step outside onto the spacious waterfront deck, where you can enjoy a BBQ, dine outdoors or relax while watching boats glide past and native wildlife move through the surrounding landscape.
Two Beautiful Bedrooms – Sleeping Up to Four Guests The Haven offers two bedrooms, making it ideal for couples, two couples or a small family.
The Upstairs Retreat
The upstairs bedroom features a comfortable queen-size bed, its own balcony and beautiful views of the surrounding bushland and water.
One of the cottage’s most romantic features is the luxurious copper bathtub, where you can soak while taking in the peaceful natural surroundings.
The upstairs bathroom also includes a separate shower, toilet and beautiful copper basin.
The Downstairs Bedroom
Located on the main living level, the second bedroom features a double bed and convenient access to its own bathroom with shower, toilet and basin.
The cottage also offers an additional powder room for guests’ convenience.
Your Own Waterfront Escape One of The Haven’s greatest attractions is its direct connection to the water.
The spacious waterfront deck overlooks a tranquil bay, providing the perfect place to enjoy breakfast in the morning sunshine, a relaxing afternoon or an evening drink surrounded by nature.
Guests have access to a private pontoon and Kayaks, allowing you to experience the beauty of Cottage Point from the water.
Explore the sheltered waterways, admire the surrounding national park or simply relax on the deck and enjoy the ever-changing scenery.
Life jackets are provided, and all water activities are subject to the property’s safety guidelines and suitable weather conditions.
Arrive by Road or Water Part of the magic of The Haven is the journey itself.
Arriving by Car
Enjoy a scenic drive through the beautiful bushland of Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park to Cottage Point.
The property has road access and convenient carport parking. From the carport, a private inclinator transports guests down to the cottage, making it easier to bring luggage and belongings.
Arriving by Boat
Guests may also arrive by private boat and access the cottage from the waterfront pontoon.
Please arrange your arrival by boat with the hosts in advance.
The cottage’s main living level offers convenient access to the kitchen, lounge, dining area, downstairs bedroom and bathroom, while internal stairs lead to the upstairs retreat.
Explore Cottage Point Cottage Point is one of Sydney’s hidden gems, a peaceful waterfront village surrounded by national park and beautiful waterways.
Although it feels a world away from the hustle and bustle of city life, it remains within reach of Sydney and the Northern Beaches.
For a memorable dining experience, visit the renowned Cottage Point Inn, a beautiful waterfront restaurant known for its fine dining and spectacular setting.
For something more casual, the charming Cottage Point Kiosk is a wonderful place to enjoy breakfast, lunch or coffee overlooking the water.
The surrounding national park offers opportunities to appreciate native wildlife, scenic bushland and the natural beauty of this remarkable part of Sydney.
Shopping and Local Supplies As The Haven is located in a peaceful national park setting, we recommend purchasing groceries, drinks and other essentials before arriving.
Terrey Hills is a convenient place to stop on the way, with a local grocer, butcher, pharmacy and other amenities.
If you are planning to enjoy a BBQ, prepare a romantic dinner or simply spend your entire stay relaxing by the water, we suggest bringing everything you need.
Local dining venues may have limited opening hours, so we recommend checking availability and making reservations in advance.
A Peaceful and Private Retreat The Haven is designed for guests seeking relaxation, tranquillity and a connection with nature.
Whether you’re celebrating an anniversary, planning a romantic weekend, enjoying quality time with family or simply escaping the everyday, the cottage provides a beautiful setting to create lasting memories.
The property accommodates a maximum of four guests and is not suitable for parties or large gatherings.
The owners live in a separate residence on the property and are available to assist when required while respecting your privacy.
For everyone’s safety, particularly given the waterfront and bushland setting, children must be supervised around the water, pontoon, decks and inclinator.
A Labour of Love For your hosts, Aredy and Phillip, The Haven is much more than a holiday property.
Both born and raised in Sydney, they share a love of the outdoors, beautiful waterways and restoring older buildings.
Over many years, they have carefully restored this original fisherman’s cottage, preserving its unique history and character while creating a welcoming retreat for guests.
Their greatest pleasure is sharing this special piece of Cottage Point with visitors who appreciate its natural beauty, peaceful surroundings and remarkable history.

Absolutely loved our stay here. The waterfront location was unreal and made the whole stay feel that little bit more special. Waking up to the views and being able to relax by the water was a massive highlight. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for an easy stay. Great spot if you’re looking for somewhere peaceful, well located and with a bit of a holiday feel to it.Would definitely stay again and highly recommend it.
Georgeous place with awesome amenities and very clean. Such a private oasis. Aredy was super helpful in answering all our questions before we got there, which made a fantastic experience. We spent our time checking out the bays on the kayaks and even managed to catch a few fish. We left feeling relaxed and refreshed.
Amazing, unique cottage right on the water. It isn't the place to be anonomous as you need Phill (builder of the place and owner) to show you down etc. But he was great and the place was amazing. We will be back :)
