About this property
Entire place
You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.
This historic Grovemont residence makes for the perfect family getaway during your next stay in the Asheville area. It is one of the 15 original homes of E.W. Grove, of the Grove Park Inn, built in 1927. Its ideal location is 15 minutes to Asheville and 6 minutes to Black Mountain while still feeling nestled in a quiet mountain retreat. Grovemont Getaway features a harmony of old-world charm with modern conveniences like a fully renovated modern kitchen, smart thermostat, and WiFi access.
Upon arrival, there is plenty of driveway parking for up to four vehicles. The wide front porch is a great place to sit and enjoy the garden in the shade. You’ll have easy, key-free access with a front door code.
On the main level, relax by watching TV or having a family game night in the spacious family room. The chef and baker’s kitchen attaches to the dining room for cooking family-favorite recipes (or order in from plenty of delivery options – you are on vacation, after all!) to enjoy meals together. Full washer and dryer use are available on the main level. Sip your morning coffee and enjoy the beautiful views on the all-season porch.
Find all three bedrooms upstairs. One bedroom with two twin beds (could hold up to two additional twin air mattresses) is perfect for kids. Through its Jack and Jill bath find the second bedroom with a queen bed. The primary bedroom is just down the hall, with a four-poster queen bed, in-room TV, and en suite full bath.
The outside offers plenty of beautiful space to enjoy the outdoors or have happy hour under the pergola facing the mountains. Walk up the street to the park with a playground or visit the darling Swannanoa library.
This location has easy access to all Asheville and the surrounding area has to offer. From museums downtown, to the Biltmore Mansion, to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and to the area’s numerous restaurants, breweries, and array of shopping, you can craft your perfectly tailored family getaway.

We didn’t have a long stay but I wish we had!! The home is absolutely beautiful. Very clean and very accommodating. I would definitely stay again! Thank you.
This is the best VRBO we have rented. The kitchen is stocked with anything you could need to cook. Coffee bar and wine chiller are nice! Welcome snacks and a bottle of wine we’re waiting for us. Home is immaculate and well cared for. This will be our go to place each time we visit Black Moutain!
We rented this home to attend my daughter's wedding at a nearby venue. Location was perfectly situated and convenient to both Black Mountain and Asheville. Kitchen was very well equipped. This historic home was quite comfortable and the gardens are beautiful.
We had a lovely time in a very clean property. There was plenty of space in common areas to gather and also room for everyone to have their own space. We spent the day at Biltmore and had dinner in Black Mountain. This was super convenient to both. The mom of our group loved the simple check out procedures! We truly felt like it was a vacation.
We wanted to support our community, hard hit by Helene. This lovely home, did not seem to suffer during the storm. the property is well appointed, nice updates but keeping that historic charm. My team loved the great outdoor spaces, where we took lunch. Thank you for your Southern Hospitality.
This house is lovely, warm, and welcoming. Exceeded expectations from the excellent communications from host to all house amenities. Every effort was made to assure we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. All our family loved the house and plan to rent it again for family events. We have rented many, many properties (VRBO & AirB&B) and this house/host BY FAR is the best! Can't wait to revisit this home! Thank you for a perfect vacation!
A beautiful home that we felt comfortable in right away. The kitchen was very well stocked from coffee to cookware. The sunroom was an excellent play space for our 2-1/2 year old grandson. He could play safely while we made a quick stop into the adjacent kitchen, and there was seating for all of us to join him. The large dining room table allowed us to eat meals and play games together. Abundant seating in the living room made it our main hangout space. We played baseball in the yard and in the nearby neighborhood park. The Grovemont Getaway binder was packed with info about the house and the community. The Host was very timely in responding to any questions throughout.
Without doubt, this home is the best rental we have ever encountered--across the board excellence, attention to guest comfort and ease, comfortable, wonderfully appointed, great kitchen, history and area, huge yard and trees, perfect sun room, friendly hosts, and beauty.Perfect for 6 guests; 8 if you utilize an air mattress.
This home is wonderful! So charming, we loved the back porch and back yard. Liz is very communicative and helpful. A perfect spot for my 6 and 9 year olds!
I am a rental owner and frequent traveler and this home was by far the best vacation rental I have stayed in! The home itself is beautiful and historic and the owner had the baby things we needed set up and ready to go. The house is fully stocked with anything you could need and it was truly a wonderful experience staying there. I would choose this place over all the others in the Asheville area.
This rental property was amazing. The hosts, Liz and Tobey, were so communicative and kind. They were kind enough to lend an early check-in to our group, and the house was so thoughtfully prepared. We loved reading about the history of the house and admiring the beautiful architecture. The whole setup was so conducive to a group reunion and we could not have asked for a better experience. Will definitely be recommending to everyone and would love to book again!
