"Air con was the main reason for booking, and I can confirm it's proper wall mounted air con which works great. Bed was comfy. We received an upgrade to a luxury double which was a lovely room. Blackout curtains, and the room was quiet despite taxis being outside.
We ate out locally as they do not provide food. We had Wetherspoons and the Tesco cafe for breakfast, and tried Burger Boyz for dinner one evening, excellent burgers!
Hotel is central to everything and made a nice change from a Premier Inn which we usually rely on. Would recommend."
"Really disappointed with how we've been treated with this booking. I booked (and paid) for the property back in September 2024 because I'd entered an event which started nearby. 3 days before arriving Vrbo emailed confirming the booking and said to await details on how to access the property. The day before still nothing so I emailed the host, no reply. I then messaged on the day we were due to arrive, still no reply. I tried the number given for the host but it didn't work so had to obtain another number from Vrbo. I called that number and spoke to Ben who said he'd go and sort the problem out and would come back to me (he didn't).I then received a cancellation email via Vrbo with the reason given that the accommodation had been booked on another platform the day we were due to arrive! I tried to call Ben back on two occasions but he wouldn't take my call. Very unprofessional. This was stress we did not want to deal with ahead of a big event. We were put to more cost as there was little choice left at the same cost and we had to stay further away from the start of the event where we had to be for 6am! Logistically this caused all sorts of problem.I've had no apology from the hosts and I think it's totally unacceptable for them to hold our money for 10 months and cancel last minute because they can't manage their business and block out dates when the property is in use. Do we get compensation? They should be taken off Vrbo. As you can tell, we're not happy!"
