Beautiful small town with port and churches

Found this quiet beautiful town when rearranging my trip and enjoyed a beautiful sunny day and walk on the cliffs nearby. Quaint and beautiful area (looks different in bad weather though). Very friendly staff. Small room with nice view. Church within hotel with some history.

Great stop for peninsula trip

Just one night, I wish i could have stayed longer! Great location with views of a beautiful littles harbor, and ocean and islands. The breakfast is amazing!!

We were surprise to find out that hotel Fransiskus is also a church. It is a pretty big hotel with very simple but extremely clean rooms. Breakfast was rich and provided everything we needed. The staff was attentive and helpful. Parking is available and the town is in a walking distance. We had great dinner at Narfeyrarstofa downtown - Excellent!!

Great place to stay

This was an amazing place where you can walk down to the restaurants and docks of the bay. Amazing views too. The place was comfortable and quiet, and had an amazing breakfast included.

We drove west and south Iceland in September. We stayed at 7 different hotels during the trip. Diana & Daniel from the reception of Hotel Fransiskus are the only ones replied my special requests regarding room selection. Staff are friendly. Breakfast has plenty of selections. Parking lots are below the building. You need to walk up a bit, but not difficult.
