1st Street sits in one of the most relaxed pockets of Indian Rocks Beach. Quiet residential blocks. Easy beach access. Close to restaurants, coffee spots, and all the classic Florida day trips visitors look forward to. It is the kind of area where you can slow down without feeling isolated.

When you want to explore, everything is close. The Florida Botanical Gardens in Largo lights up from late November through January 1. St. John’s Pass Village and Boardwalk offers seafood, shopping, and dolphin cruises. Families can divide their time between the Clearwater Aquarium, Tampa Lowry Zoo, and the Florida Aquarium without worrying about long drives.

If you prefer slower moments, Sunken Gardens is great for a peaceful walk. Kids love Dinosaur World. Tarpon Springs brings Greek food and a charming waterfront district. Hyde Park is perfect for shopping and coffee stops. Downtown St. Pete and the St. Pete Pier stay lively with events, restaurants, and water views.

Shoppers head toward Ellenton Premium Outlets. Sports fans catch the Rays at Tropicana Field or the Buccaneers in Tampa. Spring training brings several pro baseball teams into the area. And for the all-day adventure, Disney World and Universal Studios are about two hours away.

Indian Rocks Beach is a small, easygoing beach town, so getting around is simple. Most guests walk or bike. The beach, local restaurants, coffee shops, and parks are all close enough that you rarely need a car once you’re here.

If you want to explore farther, you have options.
• Jolley Trolley runs through the beach communities with stops along Gulf Boulevard. It’s the easiest public transit option for getting up and down the coast.
• PSTA Bus Route 59 connects to Clearwater and Largo for broader access.
• Rideshare (Uber and Lyft) is widely available and usually quick.
• Car rentals are easy to arrange at Tampa or St. Pete airports if you plan day trips or want full flexibility.

Parking around the beaches can get tight in peak season, so walking or taking the trolley often saves the headache.
