About this property
The Red Cottage ~ 5 min. stroll to Historic St. George Street - on site parking
In full disclosure the Red Cottage is a 125 year old structure, built from lumber salvaged after the 1914 fire. It was used by a native Spaniard, Manuel Menendez, where he rolled cigars until the mid 1930's. It has its quirks and flaws but it's decor, warmth and persona are enchanting. Incredibly convenient and very accessible this is perfect for you if you love vintage.
It was converted to a one room studio with a small kitchen and bathroom. Rustic, quaint, cozy and charming ~ it was recently renovated but still maintains a touch of its history. The kitchen is equipped with a Keurig coffee machine and pods, cream & sugar, a small refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and normal kitchen necessities. Please note per the pictures, the bathroom is small and the shower can be a bit tight. A flagstone patio offers outside seating. Free off-street parking is available with lots of extra space for trailer, boat or a recreational vehicle.
The Cottage sits on a large piece of property behind a turn-of-the-century Victorian home (the property owner's rental) overlooking Castillo Drive, the entrance to the city. Francis Field, across the street, is the downtown dog park/event field. Less than 200 yards East is The Visitor Center, and City Gates. Castillo de San Marco (the fort) and Saint George Street are just beyond. Short drives take you to the beautiful beaches of Villano, Anastasia State Park and St. Augustine Beach. On the way to the beach, stop by the Alligator Farm and the Historic St. Augustine Light House. For shopping, St. George street offers many lovely boutiques, and gift shops. Or choose from area outlet malls, farmer's markets, antique stores, etc.

My fiance and I stayed here for our 7th anniversary get away and it was beautiful. Not only was the cottage comfortable, our host Hillary was super fast to respond and oh so kind. It's extremely close to everything so you can just park your car and walk to almost everything. Hilary provided recommendations for what we were looking to experience as well and the cottage is full of brochures and maps! Definitely recommend!

Tiny but clean and cozy. Location is a big plus. Very easy and straightforward checking in and checkout. Hostess is just a call or a message away. I would recommend for a single person or a couple in a short getaway.
Wonderful charming little cottage! It is small but comfortable and the interior is considered thoughtfully. I appreciate that the host provides lots of simple basics such as a Kuereg with coffee pods and all sorts of adsorted things one might forget to bring. Other places I have stayed were so bare minimum. The interior feels much bigger than it looks on the outside and was quite comfortable, even though it was unseasonably cold with below freezing temps! It's also in a convenient location a short walk to the visitor center and St George Street. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay here again.

The cottage was cute, a little bit eclectic, mixed with antiques, mixed with a little bit of whimsy. It also had a cute little patio. The room was clean, and private. It is a cottage separated from the house. Walking distance to the downtown area.
Very quaint little home. Clean and easy to access. Great location to downtown St. Augustine.

A cozy little cottage. Clean and comfortable. Just what I needed for a couple of days in Saint Augustine. It's a very short walk to the Colonial quarter.
Hilary was a delightful host.
The cottage had everything we needed and was very clean. The location was perfect. Quiet location but close enough for a 5 minute walk to the historic district of St Augustine.
This is our second stay at the cottage. Perfect location to downtown with an inmate comfortable room to relax in at night. We also had a nightly visit from a friendly outdoor cat Harry that kept us company on the front patio.
We just stayed at the Little Red Cottage for the second time, and somehow it was even better than the first. The space is the perfect size for me, my wife, and our pup, Patchouli. It was spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully stocked with all the little conveniences that make a stay easier. The bed was super comfortable, and the shady patio was a great spot to relax and people-watch.The location couldn’t be better...walkable to food, drinks, shopping, and everything the historic district has to offer. Once we parked in the private off-street spot right beside the cottage, we never touched our car again. The host was fantastic: warm, friendly, quick to respond, and flexible. She made us feel welcome from the start. We love this cottage and will definitely be back again!

Great property near the historic district. It was exactly as described. We enjoyed our stay here, thank you!
It was an absolute wonderful stay! Loved the communication with the host! Very accommodating! The place was comfy and cozy! It was such a short walk to everything! It was a perfect stay!
This is an awesome place to stay, easy walk to food, bars and attractions. Everything you need in your home away from home. Loved the decor very creative and sipping coffee on the patio was priceless.
Quaint, quirky and cute cottage. Enjoyed our stay and the dogs loved it too!!! The dog park across the street was great for them!!! And the walk to all of the action for Nights of Lights was very close!!! Great place to stay if you want to be close to the action. Jeremy was a great host!!
Nice stay overall. This property met all our needs for the weekend. Nice proximity to historic district. Host was very accommodating and it was really nice to be allowed to bring our dog with us.
This has become our goto location for visiting the Nights of Lights celebration. The cabin is cozy and rustic so you have to go into it with that understanding, but it is clean, comfortable, and the location is amazing. It is an easy stroll to the downtown area with a park across the road for easy walking with the pups. All in one of my favorite lovations to stay.
