Happiest Holiday
Wonderful rental with everything needed for our family celebration. Three bedrooms provided comfortable sleeping space. Large dining table was perfect for our Thanksgiving meal. Fantastic views, walks on the beach, and a cozy fireplace made it hard to leave. A short drive to downtown Portland to watch the tree lighting ceremony and Christmas festivities was no problem. Thank you John for exceeding our expectations in every way. The beach toys and activities for our two year old were a big plus.

Great location
Just like in the pictures the house faces the water in a great location in South Portland. The space is very nice for a family: 3 bedrooms, with the largest facing the water, and a sizable living room. The building is traditional "old Maine" with some upgrades, e.g., bath/shower and washer-dryer are newer, but the kitchen is older, small but functional. The host is friendly & responsive.

We truly enjoyed our experience staying in this home. The owner, John, was a so kind and friendly. The views were more than we expected, from the beach to cruise ships rolling through the harbor, and light houses and schooners passing through the bay. It was so lovely.

Willard Beach Gem
First off, John is an awesome human being and very attentive, but chill. This upstairs of a large residence is on the beach and has a beautiful deck which is great for sipping morning coffee or an evening beverage. If my travels take me back to the Portland area, I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks, John!

It was perfect! The view was amazing and the host,John is great. We go away for mothers day weekend each year and this was probably the top place so far! beautiful porch that looks right over the beach . We sat there all day on a hot sunny Saturday. Perfect setting on community beach
Family friendly community beach location. This upstairs rental has amazing views from inside its sliding glass doors on cooler days but being out on the balcony was the best part! Inside was clean and comfortable.

Perfect for Dogs
This rental is perfect for your furry friend! It's right on the most popular "dog beach" in the Portland area. The other major attraction is the spectacular view! It would be easy to just sit on the deck all day watching the light change over the day on the ocean and harbor islands.

Perfect beach spot minutes from Portland.
We had the most wonderful time at John’s perfect spot on the beach just minutes from Portland. The property is dog, friendly, but even more, so is the beach, which allows dogs off leash in the morning and evening. Great long walks on the beach with beautiful sunsets. House was cozy and had everything we needed. John was a great accommodating host and our check in and check out were problem free. This is definitely a repeat location for our family gatherings.

Magnificent View
The advertising for this property did not disappoint. Stunning views from a second floor deck made us want to get up early every day and see the sun rise up over the islands of Casco Bay. This was the most enjoyable stay we have had in the several years visiting Maine since moving away. John was a great host and was immediately responsive to any of our questions. We hope to be back if it's not booked up!!

I love the location, but hoped the majority of space was on ground floor as my grandmother had difficulty with the flight of stairs with the wobbly hand railing. The host was wonderful to deal with and we overall enjoyed our time by the ocean.

i'm sorry the location was difficult for your grandmother. The description for the rental is very clear that it is on the 2nd floor of the house. The stairs are wide with handrails on each side. Didn't know about the wobbly railing, but it has since been repaired. Thanks again for your stay

Our group loved this home, beach front with easy access and all the noises of a beach. Lapping waves on the beach, kids and dogs occasionally playing, sun, rain and fog including an occasional fog horn. This is a home that has been partitioned you have the upstairs with a large deck to watch the harbor. There are stairs that you will have to negotiate to the top floor, not bad but it was a bit challenging for our older guests. We loved it and if we come back we will look for this home. Thanks John!

Gorgeous Location
Our family was road tripping up and down the coast of Maine for Spring Break. We splurged on this beautiful home because of it's location and spot on the beach. The Vrbo is on the second floor of a converted century old inn and the host lives on the first floor. There is a separate entrance that leads up the stairs into the home. At the entrance, there is a powder room with the washer and dryer. On the second floor, the main bedroom looks out into the bay and a large deck is accessible both by the main bedroom and the living room. The smallest room is the kitchen, but since we were road tripping, we did not use the space for cooking. While smaller, everything you could need for cooking was available. The one day we were there, the weather was very chilly and misty, and we just stayed put, watching the tides and people/dog watched. There are some neighborhood residence who apparently enjoy the polar bear plunge on the daily, and it was amazing watching them take it in 42* water! The views from this location are amazing. Our host, John was very communicative and kind. He made sure we were comfortable and provided recommendations for us to eat that would work for the adults and the kids.

Second time staying at John’s place on Willard Beach. Clean and well-equipped second floor living (John lives on the first floor and is always available). Absolutely gorgeous surroundings, no matter the time of year. We don’t have much time away from work, but every time we do, I’m always checking if John’s place is available.

Very clean property. Very well located. Very family friendly. And the property owner is incredibly thoughtful, warm, hospitable and friendly.
