"We didn't know what to expect. This place was up to it's high rating. Julia and the rest of the staff were very accommodating! The place was renovated into the hotel Teo years ago and still feels brand new. The a/c was the quietest we have ever experienced!!
There is one of the coolest little markets next door along with some other places to eat that we will try the next time.
Loved the waterfalls and casino close by."
"The Bee Hotel completely exceeded my expectations from the moment I walked through the door. If you're looking for a place that combines charm, comfort, and outstanding hospitality, look no further.
First and foremost, the staff deserve a standing ovation. Every single team member we encountered was warm, attentive, and genuinely went out of their way to make our stay special. It's rare to find that level of care and friendliness across an entire team — it really sets the Bee apart.
The location is ideal — right in the heart of Danville on Patton Street, putting you within easy reach of the city's best dining, shops, and attractions. I was there for a concert at Ceasar's, and you couldn't ask for a more convenient base.
The rooms are nothing short of stunning, spacious, impeccably clean. I stayed in one the suites! The thoughtful décor throughout the hotel — with its nods to the building's rich history — makes the whole experience feel unique and memorable. This isn't your average cookie-cutter hotel room.
And then there's the rooftop terrace — absolutely the crown jewel of the property. The views of the city are breathtaking, the seating is comfortable and inviting, and the atmosphere up there is simply magical. Whether you're catching a sunset with a drink in hand or socializing with fellow guests, it's the kind of place you don't want to leave.
I cannot recommend The Bee Hotel highly enough. I'll absolutely be back on my next visit to Danville. A true 10 out of 10!"
"The rumors will be rumors; “haunted” is not how I would ever describe this hotel, ENCHANTING is more appropriate. Between the rustic feel, the beautiful rooms, amazing staff and overall cozy southern hospitality feel it’s hard to describe just how pleasant our stay at the berry hill resort was. The tavern as well as indoor pool were magnificent and the bed/ room were extremely comfy and inviting. Excellent, fulfilling breakfast with SO much to do on the property. Would not only recommend for a romantic getaway but anytime treeing through southern Virginia as well!"
"This hotel is absolutely filthy. The renovation looks good from 50 ft away but it’s like lipstick on a pig. The lobby immediately told me what I needed to know: dirty stains and leaves on the furniture, stuff all over the floor, ceiling is heavily drooping. This is our one time a year we get to stay in a hotel and we were quickly super disappointed with our choice. We refused to stay for our entire stay. In the room we found tons of issues.
Floor was not swept, found glass on it (in a pet friendly room mind you- my dog could have ripped open her pads). All furniture in the room is either rusty, scratched, stained, or warped. Walls damaged- like the stucco is actually peeling or crumbling off. There was black mold on the ceiling. The bathroom is crusty and the door had nasty black hand prints everywhere. The water pressure is non existent. The pillows are not even a basic sized pillow. It’s small enough for a child and completely deflates flat. Had to stuff two in a pillow case to be relatively normal. But the worst part is the back exit isn’t locked or secure so anyone can come in and it led straight to our room. We smelled weed the entire night because the back door doesn’t close. The manager Morris acted like this is all new to him but then again we waited at the counter for 10 minutes while he was outside smoking. Also the pool was listed as an amenity but is closed, they should probably tell people that. The breakfast was nice and the lady running it works very hard."
"The property overall is top notch. I was pleased with my King suite, and had a nice view of the property overseeing the pool. The casino was a lot of fun. The staff does well to keep the game floor clean. Service could be improved at the cash center during busy hours, but the staff were all super friendly. I got a 80 min relaxation massage at the spa, and really enjoyed the steam room and sauna. The pool was fantastic. I enjoyed all the meals from 3 Stacks. I do not recommend Ramsays Kitchen. I got the ribeye with potato puree and it made me sick. They are also way over priced. I stayed for 2 days for a quick getaway. Overall 9/10."
