Ironmaster Mansion — 1700's historic stone guest house with creek view
10/10 Excellent
"Wonderful as always! We come back every year. This year we were fortunate enough to be treated to a very picturesque snowfall during our stay. Couldn't think of a cozier and more peaceful place to be.Allison is a fantastic host and we always feel welcome. See you next year!"
"Just returned home from staying here over the weekend, and it was fantastic. Let me start by saying that the hosts are wonderful! It was a little chilly in the barn for my husband, and we asked if we could have the heat turned up and it was no problem at all. Melissa immediately turned it up and told us if we needed it up more, to let her know. This is a very clean and well kept property. The kitchen has everything you could need. Plenty of dishware and utensils. Lots of coffee and hot chocolate pods. Spiral staircase that goes right into the upstairs bedrooms. A double and a twin in the 1st bedroom and a queen in the second bedroom. There is also a regular staircase off of the downstairs bedroom which has a queen bed also. There is also a pretty comfy couch in the downstairs bedroom. The bathroom is off the kitchen. Now the bathroom is not huge, but is spacious enough. Has adequate shelving over the toilet. Water pressure in shower was great! The living room is pretty big! Dining room table that could easily fit 8 people. Curved leather couch with a Roku tv. Also a couple of rocking chairs. Lots of toys for little ones too. Our great nephews, ages 8 and 3 had a really good time when they came to visit. Also a good choice of books and movies to choose from. Lots of cool little antiques around too. Nice Christmas tree set up in the living room. Also, lots of blankets!! It was very nice and cozy. 25-30 minute drive to Sight and Sound, Dutch Wonderland, etc..."
250yo Stone House - Stargazing, Fireflies, Streams, and room to Run!
10/10 Excellent
"We spent Thanksgiving at this beautiful 1770s stone farmhouse with our extended family — five bedrooms, two spacious kitchens, and plenty of space for all of us to spread out comfortably. For Thanksgiving dinner, we cooked together using the fully equipped kitchens, and there was more than enough room at the big dining table for everyone. The combination of history, peaceful farmland views, and cozy comforts made this place feel like a “home away from home.”"
The Safe Harbor Home | Quiet Retreat, Fire Pit, Nature
10/10 Excellent
"The house is spacious and cozy--plenty of space both for spreading out with friends at the big dining table, or catching up with cocktails in the common room. Kitchen is spacious, too, and a blast to make big dinners in. The bedrooms have plenty of closet and storage space for long stays. There's only one catch: during colder days, the difference in temps upstairs and downstairs are noticeable. Upstairs can get a bit stuffy if the thermostat is set high, so tone that baby down by five degrees (we kept it at 67 during the day when it was in the 50s, and 62 at night, with the windows cracked, and it was very comfortable). If you're a prude, sorry. But the more "able" of visitors will adjust with and simply adapt to the quirks of this old house, which my partner and I have done with any house we rent. There's no perfect situation, especially with older houses. And who doesn't want the personality? If you want cookie cutter, sleep in an IKEA showroom. But if you want soul, come here. There's a terrific park, and the Enola Low Grade Trail, within a fifteen minute walk from the front door (parking too), which I accidentally found when I went for an early morning hike through the woods. And there's an easy little loop trail behind the houses across the street with quiet paths and very quiet too.Don't forget the fire pit... room for four. But we could have used some more firewood...All around excellent stay. Would definitely do it again. "
The Conestoga Cottage | Hot Tub, Rustic Charm, Near Downtown Lancaster
10/10 Excellent
"I loved the neighborhood, safe and quiet. You do share a driveway with the neighbors. The house is cozy and clean, well decorated. We loved the hot tub. The fireplace was wonderful and there was plenty of firewood provided. It's about a 30 minute drive into town. The small restroom could probably use a renovation, but the rest of the house is lovely. "

"Everything from the location, to the house, to the amenities in the home and conversations with the owner was above and beyond. The home was very clean and updated with a fun game room downstairs as well as kids toy area in the main living area. The fire pit in the backyard was a nice relaxing place to end our evening. Barbs was always willing to answer my questions and give suggestions In a very timely manner. Overall great stay and would definitelyReccomend. "
